From 29th November against Villarreal until the game against Celtic on 29th December, Rangers will play ten games.  Including three mid-week league games.

So many fixtures at this time of year will hit fans hard in the wallet and make team selections trickier than usual.

After the Celtic game, the next scheduled league fixture is against Kilmarnock on Wednesday 23rd January.  With a Scottish Cup tie due on the weekend of 19th/20th January.

The prospect of more  European games is of course a welcome challenge – but those three additional midweek league games are going to strain the playing resources even of the biggest squads.

Personally, I think the value of the Winter Break needs to be looked at again.  Indeed, you might ask, can anyone now predict when the Scottish winter starts and finishes?
