It doesn’t appear to say in the reports that he will be the Assistant Manager (or am I missing something?)Ajax youth coach leaves them to come to Ibrox to become Gio’s assistant
Can't sack the bravest man in World football mate.I think I know of one, lol
A few of the fucking players would’ve been as well on the couch though!odd final paragraph unless im missing something
Van Bronckhorst played between 1998 and 2001 for the Scottish record champion, which was then still called Glasgow Rangers. The current Rangers will play at home against Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday and that means the debut for the former defender on the bench. Van Bronckhorst was not on the couch last Sunday, then the Gers lost to Hibernian (1-3) in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup tournament.
Could he be a replacement for Murty?. There was a comment by Ross Wilson( I think) when Murty announced he was leaving, that the club were excited about the plans for the academy.
This is the biggest thing we’ve been missing for years getting the transition from a quality youth player into the first team on a regular basis and if there’s a club to copy doing it from there’s no better than ajax and hiring one of there top coaches is a good way to go about itCould be interesting for Paterson and Kelly; he will know about transitioning to the first team etc.
Like they did with ange ball across the cityThat's the way it is now I'm afraid. Only way to change it is if we appointed all the backroom staff ourselves and got a manager and told him who he is working with. Not many managers would accept that.
Not sure you leave being Ajax U18 Manager to work with our academy.Could he be a replacement for Murty?. There was a comment by Ross Wilson( I think) when Murty announced he was leaving, that the club were excited about the plans for the academy.
Here's the article, with the comment from Ross Wilson. What was Murty’s role specifically?
Bravest man in football needs a job for life.Like they did with ange ball across the city
I don't care what wine he brings so long as he can do the jobHopefully bring Gravenberch and Antony with him
In all seriousness though quite a coup to get a coach out of Ajax especially someone 10 years there.
Taking Beales place and doing it the same route by looks of it. The youth set up is a longterm role that managers that are becoming more and more fleeting don't have much say in. You can't really be ripping it up and starting again when a manger and his whole team leave at youth level. GVB will have some say but not much his remit is the 1st team. Not sure you leave being Ajax U18 Manager to work with our academy.
Next step is to move into senior football you'd imagine.
Murty hasn’t been hands on in a role in nearly 18 monthsCould this be Murtys replacement rather than assistant manager?

Dave Vos will be one of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s assistants at Rangers, writes The Telegraph Thursday. According to the newspaper, the 38-year-old coach of Ajax Under 18 told his players on Wednesday after the minimal victory over Besiktas (0-1) in the UEFA Youth League. He will sign a contract in Glasgow until the summer of 2024 or 2025.
Yeah he’s not Assistant Manager, he’s the Assistant *to* the Manager.I think there may have been a mistranslation somewhere. I think he is joining as an assistant and not as Assistant Manager.
I don't think he produces them, I think he brings them on.His track record at producing youth players seems outstanding.
Hahaha, didn't notice that, Timmy will be frantically chugging off to that
Apparently he's a qualified Air Traffic Controller as well
Correct. Being reported in the Netherlands as “one of the assistants to Giovanni van Bronckhorst.I don't think he is assistant manager I think he is the talent coach Gio was talking about bringing in. I could be wrong, The story says assistant but doesn't mean assistant manager.
Cheers Trig.Welcome Rodney.
Yeah he’s not Assistant Manager, he’s the Assistant *to* the Manager.
Klopt precies.Correct. Being reported in the Netherlands as “one of the assistants to Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
“ een van de assistenten van Giovanni van Bronckhorst”
The reality is if Gio and his team are successful then they will all move on to an EPL club similar to SG & Co. The upside to that though is it makes us an appealing club to come to for any future quality upcoming management teams.Good appointment, my only concern is us building a full team around Gio who would possibly leave with him as we have just seen with SG. We need to start a lasting legacy with natural successors in positions.
Here's the article, with the comment from Ross Wilson.
Graeme Murty
RANGERS FC can confirm that Head of Elite Academy Development, Graeme Murty, will be leaving the club.www.rangers.co.uk
Dave Vos. Sounds like a DJ.
Naturally I have never heard of him and know nothing about him, but as Rangers have chosen him, he is going to be incredible for us.
Apparently he's a qualified Air Traffic Controller as well
Handy qualification in Scottish football, given the amount of time the ball is in the air.Apparently he's a qualified Air Traffic Controller as well
