Anonymous is being kind. His constant giving the ball away meant he was more like a 12th man for Livi.
 
Games are never won at 2-0. I don’t know why we let the intensity drop?

Careless like we were 5-0 up. Long ball down the middle and Livingston - who were never in it until then - are now in a match.

Let’s see the second half response. I’m sure van Bronckhorst won’t be happy with the last 10/15 minutes of that half.

The 2nd ball was a rebound that fell at an opposition players feet - these things happen - the mistake was Goldson’s not taking the ball that went straight over his head!

Bassey is absolutely at fault, you should be following in and clearing the ball. He’s waiting on it and the striker gets round him to tap it in.

2 great goals and looked like we were going to stroll it.

But defending like a pub team again and it should be 2-2. I'm not one to go on about Goldson, but he had a 15 minute spell there where he was absolutely awful.

We better get thd next goal or this could be really worrying.
 
Dno what you guys were watching, thought Morelos was our brightest spark that half along with Kent, Aribo and Tav

Felt Arfields dropped out the game slightly, maybe could use a bigger presence to keep control of the game, would have to be Davis or Lundstram seeing as Jacks not in the team

Kent’s role is to stay out wide and stretch their defence. He was crucial to our second goal. He drew two defenders towards him which allowed him to slip the ball into Morelos.
 
Think they know our weak spot? Ping a high ball between the right back and centre back and mop up any lose ball. Tavanier not won a header yet and Goldson having a mare here. Alfie not doing much either.

Borna is the weak link of this team. Everything from Hibs and Sparta had came through his side, and livi have had a number of chances down his side.
 
Hopefully a, reaction at half time. We were cruising then ended up hanging on. Another goal from us should settle the game but will be nervous if it stays 2-1 for a while.

He's been a shadow of himself this season. Even going forward he's no longer consistently providing the same level of service or set piece magic. If we didn't need Bassey at CB there'd be no real arguement for him starting at all.
 
Goldson actually started the game well with some great long passes. Since the goal he looks nervous. Making him the new whipping boy is not going to help though. Right now there is no one else to bring in (please don't suggest Simpson).
 
I think we are sitting too deep, or is it kamara knows there is a chance goldson will make an arse of it so he is going deep to cover him! We don’t really have control of the midfield as yet, when we do get it working through the middle we have them chasing shadows.
Push up a bit and play it in there half.
Goldson needs to take a look at himself, he isn’t up to speed so far

Agreed with both posts, Jacko isn’t on the bench PP.
 
Early signs from Gio’s Rangers team are that we are using the keeper a bit more than we used to to try and start/build the attacks.

The full backs (especially Barisic) starting position is deeper than it was in the previous system.

The midfield are trying to get beyond the striker and are playing 10/15 yards further forward than they did under Gerrard (which is great to see).

Hagi is wasted out on the right hand side, he either needs to be played as a central 10/8 or not at all.

Morelos’s hold up play is nowhere near good enough for us to maintain constant possession/pressure.

Kamara looks great in that holding midfield role on his own. It’s a position I’ve wanted to see him in for a while.
 
We’re 2-1 up though

Confident we’ll win this, the play in the first
20-25 minutes was absolutely brilliant and if we start like that again we’ll win this easily
 
Positives - runs beyond morelos from midfielders which resulted in goals. Kamara has been good again & being a 6 suits him

Negatives - Morelos still dropping too deep & being terrible. Goldson switching off (the Forrest chance was disgraceful from his perspective). Barisic not stopping crosses.

A excellent 15 mins, an ok 15mins then a dreadful 15 mins basically.
 
Goldson must do much better at their long ball from deep in their own half for their goal. Any centre half should deal with that comfortably.

I would like to see Wright on instead of Hagi. He would offer more direct running in the last 3rd.
 
How many mistakes do Tav & Goldson make between them every other game? Going forward its great but when they get pressed or have to concentrate they often go AWOL.

Hopefully we get another few goals in the 2nd half. We shouldnt have to rely on our GKs worldies.....
