David Edgar said he and Davis were rested, no injuriesSorry if I've missed it, but haven't seen any news on why he was missing from the squad on Saturday. Any update? Really hoping he's not injured again.

He’s just back from a lay off that’s been bothering him since pre season. We have bigger games coming up than a gimmee against Dundee and a dead rubber in France tbh.Davis I can understand, but I’m still curious as to why a professional athlete of 25 needed a rest.
Because for some pro footballers they need to be managed correctly so that when they do play they reach their absolute optimum performance.Davis I can understand, but I’m still curious as to why a professional athlete of 25 needed a rest.
Waiting on the hes gone imo
7 weeks out with the worst muscle injury you can get and playing a part in every game since returning (including 1 game on a shitey plastic pitch) would be one of the main reasons I would think.Davis I can understand, but I’m still curious as to why a professional athlete of 25 needed a rest.

I’m not entirely convinced by either those explanations.Because for some pro footballers they need to be managed correctly so that when they do play they reach their absolute optimum performance.
Will play on Thursday I imagine, probably Davis too

I don’t think he is. Aribo is better for a start. On his day Kent is still the best player in Scotland
Coming back from long lay off remember.Davis I can understand, but I’m still curious as to why a professional athlete of 25 needed a rest.

Definitely gone.He's gone imo.
Every game is important but you do need to look at games and pick and choose the best moments to rest players. Dundee at home is about the best opportunity you can get.I’m not entirely convinced by either those explanations.
On his day Kent is still the best player in Scotland so even if he didn’t start I’d have expected him to be on the bench at least - it’s a squad game and nobody should be looking at any match as a ‘gimme.’
He returned from injury over a month ago so needs more game time if anything.
I could be completely wrong of course, I just found it odd.
Was seen getting off a train in Birmingham on Saturday.
Kent having a slight dip in form, hopefully the rest do him good

I think that’s a fair explanation, but it does suggest it’s possibly come about due to some reaction in training rather than him just being granted a wee rest.Kent has a history of hamstring injuries, so it makes perfect sense to give him some recovery time and remove the fatigue from his muscles.
Doubt it. He was rested for a league game against Dundee, what would be the point taking him to France for a dead rubber when we go to Tyncastle 3 days later. Will play on Thursday I imagine, probably Davis too

Sounds like you almost want it to be another reason.I’m not entirely convinced by either those explanations.

Thursday is meaninglessWill play on Thursday I imagine, probably Davis too
Did you ever take a week off from work ?. Its not always physical , as sometimes I know yer brain is pickled and just needs a wee break, then your ready to go againDavis I can understand, but I’m still curious as to why a professional athlete of 25 needed a rest.
Exactly so what's the point in risking injury when we don't need to . The league is now our focusThursday is meaningless
I'd leave Kent out on Thursday and start him on Sunday as well. I do, however, hope he took note of Sakala running at his man, at pace, and going by him on Sunday. Kent has that in his locker, in spades, but too often makes the move inside into heavy traffic or stops and plays it backwards.
That's true to a degree - but with us stretching defences wider in our 'new' formation he may well, hopefully, find himself with more space out wide. He has more natural ability than Sakala. I don't think beating 2 men instead of 1 will stymie him. I'm more looking for him to change mindset to 'I'm going to take these f*ckers on' and take that gamble rather than, too often, going for the safe option. He has the ability and he has the speed. To be fair, due to his reputation he’s very rarely not doubled up on VB.
