Injury Updates (todays presser)

Free transfers are free for a reason
Aye, often because they choose to run down their contracts so they can get more money out of it - eg Kent and Morelos.

Not saying that applies to Souttar (though it might) but just because a player is, nominally, 'free' it doesn't really signify anything untoward.

In the full presser he says Souttar brought the injury with him and we had to operate but he is now pain free.

Surely we should be picking that up as part of the medical, we basically sighed a player who is always injured while he was actually injured. Some of the recruitment decisions we make are baffling

Ridiculous we sign a player with a history of serious injury and he will miss large parts of season through injury, I reckon we will be lucky if Souttar plays half a dozen games for us.

An absolutely vital position and we sign a crock and to add insult to injury, we splash big money on player deemed not good enough and let go a guy who was a solid performer who never let is down.

Shitshow.

Davies should be starting going forward tomorrow onwards

King we don’t want to rush it. Anfield could kill a lad like that mentally
Totally agree on King. He's been showing up well but Anfield is another level. We have seen what can happen when you chuck too many minutes at an 18 year old. He took a bit of a roasting for the Scotland U21's the other day.

It was complete arrogance on our behalf to sign a player like Souttar and just assume that because he joined Rangers he would immediately be free of the injury problems that have plagued his career

To be fair, we signed him on a pre-contract, so was probably ok when that medical was done. I'm not sure we can reassess then bump him just before he signs. Sounds like he got injured playing those final months with Hearts.

Basically Souttars previous injury flared up again and he is out until December. Who could've predicted that, only 99% of people on this board. An absolute joke of a signing

Roofe hopefully we will see in a squad in the next 2 weeks I would suspect same with Lawrence, the rest we won't see until January. Then there is match fitness to gain, basically write off the season for guys like Hagi, Souttar and Helander.

The thing that gets me most is nobody seems to want to say what the issue actually is.
Might seem harsh but does it really matter. Physically he will never be up to playing for Rangers. Why was he risked on that pitch at Livingston?

Honestly why the %^*& did we sign Souttar. He’s perma injured and even when fit, a step down from Balogun.
He had a good game against Denmark.

We will get him fit at some point and eventually sell for £500k to a Stoke and get our money back at the very least. Low risk signing.

His previous injuries were centred around his Achilles, no?

Because at least we would have patience knowing what the deal is instead of 1 week, then two, then a month, then 4 months. He's probably played on the pitch loads for Hearts and nobody knows if it was a factor because nobody knows what the problem is.

Perhaps telling the truth would expose the lack of proper analysis on his fitness?

Farcical really.

Souttar looked a great player for Hearts and Scotland over the last couple of seasons, but why the %^*& did we sign him?

Play King
He’s a 18 year old kid albeit with great potential.
Tuesday could be a very difficult night and could see the lad being under huge pressure which is unfair at this stage of his development.
Play Davies tomorrow and try to get minutes in his legs prior to Anfield.
If not why did we spend 4m on him.

The Souttar signing is turning out the way many of us predicted and absolute shambles. If he did have a cracked bone when he went through his medical especially with his injury history some one should be out of a job.

If Ben Davies doesn’t start he’s been a very expensive Ross Wilson signing and questions really need to be asked as he surely has to be fit now.

Souttar joined with a hairline fracture which was not picked up in his medical, shocking

That's cleared that up then.
