Is Raskin likely to be playing some part tomorrow?

As much as I'd like to see him tomorrow, we have enough rotation available in the squad to keep players fit and if we can get a performance like against hearts without him, we should still beat County.

Thistle might be perfect to get him settled and change things up a bit. More time training with the squad too.

Would love to see him in the squad but Kamara played so well on Wednesday night that he will have to earn his spot.. would love to see a midfield 3 of Cantwell, Kamara and Tillman.

Another good performance, get the game killed, get minutes for Raskin, Hagi and possibly/hopefully Roofe from the bench.

Make it happen Rangers!

Really can’t see him having any part to play tomorrow as the work permit is only likely to have been issued today and the chances of him being involved arevirtually nil.
He hasn’t kicked a ball in anger for some time, but I would expect him to be involved against Plastic Whistle in the cup.

When did he last play ? Transfermrkt says he was suspended for the last 6 games.

Would he need the work permit to train? I mean for insurance purposes etc - if he were to be injured in training before he got a work permit would it create issues with his contract?

Rangers had applied for it already but, strange it’s dragging

Just checked and he can’t train. It goes through the sfa as well. I know Beale just replied to work permit but I would think it encompassed everything.

A club must obtain a GBE from The Scottish FA before a migrant is permitted to undertake any employment duties for the club (including participation at training and in friendly matches). A migrant can register for a club without a GBE but, in order to play any football, he must have obtained a GBE, been assigned a Certificate of Sponsorship by that club and secured leave to remain under Tiers 2 or 5 of the PBS (subject to satisfying any other eligibility requirements of The Scottish FA and any competitions the club participates in).

He was training with Hagi on Wednesday so he’s definitely been doing stuff.

Is there a difference between a work permit and visa? I’ve seen both mentioned elsewhere but I’m not clued up on these things and if it’s just two words for the same thing.

Visa is to enter the country and the WP allows him to work.

If he was training he must be through the first step with the sfa.

When you see replies like this it makes you wonder why Rangers don't just ask someone on FF to sort things out for them. This is the sort of informative post that makes FF such an essential source of information.

He needs a work permit before he can start working.
That would definitely include training, and you are probably correct in respect of insurance purposes.
However, there are probably specialist insurance policies that kick in as soon as a contract is agreed that will allow him to perform certain tasks.
