Hibs raise sporting integrity concerns after the game is postponed

HIBS have raised strong concerns with the SPFL after the latest Dundee vs Rangers postponement, according to a report.

It isn't just the Ibrox men who are massively inconvenienced by the Dens Park side's consistent inability to host matches at the ScotFoam Stadium.

Now the Edinburgh Evening News claims that the Easter Road side - who face fellow top six chasers Motherwell this Saturday - feel that the Dens Park men have gained a sporting advantage into the bargain.

Dundee are in the box seat in the battle for the final top six spot.

And with their twice-postponed clash with Rangers now set to take place on Wednesday April 17, they will now know precisely what they need to finish in the top half of the league.

All other Premiership sides will have played their final post-split matches this weekend

The SPFL said in a statement that a disciplinary process was ongoing over Dundee's inability to get matches played.

But the impression their closest rivals have is that they haven't suffered any consequences whatsoever - and are in fact benefitting from it.

They claim that they have made their feelings clear in 'robust' discussions with league bosses.

Their unhappiness came after Rangers issued a strongly worded statement hammering the 'negligence and unprofessionalism' of the home club and believe the saga has been MISHANDLED.

It said: "Rangers has written to the SPFL outlining its position following today’s further postponement of the Dundee Scottish Premiership fixture.

The negligence and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Dundee Football Club, where they have repeatedly breached SPFL rules, continues to have a damaging effect on the top professional league in the country.

"In a week where record TV viewing figures were recorded for a match in the same competition, and this evening’s game due to be televised again by Sky Sports, this episode is deeply embarrassing and has also been eminently avoidable."

See if this was just tonight, I would say suck it up Hibs, its shite but it happens, but we had the 1st game, cancelled, a shite pitch on Saturday and the weather forecast.

Not one plan to resolve it, hope other clubs like motherwell come out now.

One thing to add, our club sat up an told you all the SPFL are shite, but you all laughed, so time to look in the mirror.

Hopefully Motherwell come out as well.

It's a double whammy. Ignore pitch maintenance to invest in playing squad, then get games postponed due to lack of maintenance and gain an advantage due to game scheduling. Couldnt have planned for league positions to be as they are, but it's fell in Dundee's favour and there seems to be no consequences, almost like they are protected...

Good. It’s about time more clubs stood up for themselves!

None of them gave a %^*& when we tried to break the cabal, %^*& them all.

They have a point tbf. Seen a few posts about similar scenarios with 1 fixture being played after the other 5 this weekend but there's a reason why the chosen game has no bearing on who makes top 6

“Peter, that’s Hibs piling it on us as well.” “What do we do?” “Ach Neil, leave it to me I’m in charge remember. I’ll see if I can rustle up a couple of glamour friendlies for them, that should sort it!”

Just need Motherwell to make a statement for a full house.
Motherwell should quote sporting integrity also.
