Our national stadium

It's a dump ..... just how it keeps on getting large events without any sort of stadium reconstruction or upgrades is staggering, it's one of the worst national stadium in Europe...look at similar sized countries in Europe with even weaker national Leagues that have top class national stadiums...ie Romania, Sweden, Hungary etc..

Totally agree mate

They used to.
Yes buy they don't now. It was built in 1999 and funded by Millenium Commision Lotteries and debentures and loans. Not by the Welsh FA. The Welsh team started.playing there in 2000 and stopped in 2009

The £59m renovation of Hampden was paid in full by the Lottery

SFA and SRU should just come together, sell off their stadiums and build one single multi-use stadium that is capable of not only hosting Rugby and Football but other events like Boxing, WWE, NFL etc.

Obviously the big issue is where to put it but still Scotland needs an up to date stadium with all the facilities that can attract major industries to come here instead of London or Cardiff.

Edinburgh is the answer for that every day of the week.

It’s a far more attractive city for event hosts than Glasgow.

Murrayfield doesn’t need ripped down - it could be modified.

Its already hosted the previously hugely successful Scottish Claymores, so they’re no strangers to top American Football.

A total dump and embarrassment. I preferred it when it was standing, it’s actually worse when the seats went it. Needs bulldozed. Sadly it sums up this country and the chief decision makers over the years that we need to put up with.
Still is standing, particularly if you’re in the West Stand. (Rangers End)

Only area with a decent view is the new stand upper tier. Even then the toilets are far too small and it’s nearly impossible to use them without a long wait. Its an absolute hell hole.

With a decent level of foresight and collaboration, Scotland should have come together with the RFU and headed to Murrayfield.

With some adaptation, it would be have been excellent.

Scotland certainly doesn’t need 4x 50k+ stadiums inside 40 miles of each other.
A decent level of foresight and collaboration?

You’re talking about little blazer wearing men in Scotland mate. You’d get more intelligent decisions from a group of 4 year olds.

At the same time that the SFA were scraping together the loose change at the bottom of their drawers to upgrade that dump, the Welsh FA managed to build a world class stadium in Cardiff. The retarded Welsh managed it but we couldn't.
What stadium in wales are you talking about ? Because the Welsh FA certainly haven’t built any stadium in wales.

Was it not the case a few years ago the decision whether to keep it as a national stadium or not? They never should have made the decision to keep it as such because it’s a terrible venue from which to watch football. Not that i care about the Scotland team but being able to play games around the country would have made much more sense. It’s only because the SFA have this inflated idea about the history of Scottish football. The Brazilians, Germans, English etc don’t give a toss about Hampden.

To give you an idea how much it appeals to regular fans, our club has over 60 members, all STHs, go to the games at Ibrox every game. When its a Hampden cup tie under 30% of our members are interested, if it a final maybe slightly higher, maybe 33%. And we are less than an hours drive away.

Absolute tip!
In the south stand lower and got dripped on the entire first half!
£41 to get soaked.

The end stands are terrible but as long as the suits are kept happy...

I was in the South Upper and the view was superb but I'll not be as lucky for the final.
