Rangers 2-1 Celtic, 1st January 1959. A game played in a gale by all accounts. The pitch certainly looks cut up!:

Rangers 2-1 Celtic, League Cup Final, 18th March 1978. With just 3 minutes of extra time remaining Gordon Smith stoops to head in the winner for Gers and the first leg of The Treble is safely secured:

Rangers 3-1 Celtic, 7th January 1978. One of the most famous goals v Them in the 70s! Whilst the scum players protest for a penalty at the other end of the pitch Rangers carry on and attack their goal, a shot from Bobby Russell rebounds from Latchford to the feet of John Greig (who started the whole move off) who only has to roll it into an empty net to put Gers 2-0 up. Mayhem ensued. Scum supporters invaded the pitch and their players threatened to leave the pitch, with BJ who Knew seething on the touchline. What a great start to a Treble winning year :D:

Rangers 2-1 Aberdeen, League Cup Final, 31st March 1979. Four minutes into injury time and a replay apparently certain, Colin Jackson soars to blast an unstoppable header into the net and Rangers have won the cup. The Gers players mob the big man in celebration:

One of my favourite goals.

Bobby Russell nearly made a total hash of it though, just as well Latchford was keech!

Kilmarnock 2-4 Rangers, Scottish Cup QF, 10th March 1962. Ian McMillan fires Gers into a lead (we'd been behind early on) at a packed Rugby Park (the attendance was 36,000). Killie would equalise but two goals in the last 10 minutes saw Rangers safely through:

AKS Vorwaerts 1-2 Rangers, European Cup, 15th November 1961. Ralph Brand scores the winner in East Berlin as Gers go behind the Iron Curtain at the height of The Cold War (the second leg had to be played in Malmo, Sweden, due to visa problems for the German team):

Aberdeen 2-2 Rangers, Scottish Cup, 17th February 1962. Ralph Brand puts Gers into the lead late on at Pittodrie but Aberdeen equalised soon after. Rangers easily won the replay 4 days later at Ibrox 5-1:

Hibernian 1-6 Rangers, League Cup, 8th August 1959. Even a great like Jimmy Millar missed sitters! He did score in this match but the man of the match was his equally famous strike partner Ralph Brand, who netted four at a bursting Easter Road (almost 45,000 in attendance):

Rangers 2-1 Celtic, 2nd January 1939. Alex Venters scores the winner in front of the record crowd at Ibrox (and still by far a record league attendance in the UK) of 118,730 (sometimes given as 118,567):

Rangers 1-0 Dundee United, 10th August 1985. Davie Cooper takes on the United defence as Gers get the season off to a winning start. 1985/86 was not to be a success, but by the end of the season Graeme Souness would be in charge and better days were ahead:
