What a result for Defensa and for Beccacece! The only unbeaten team in the League and a thoroughly deserved win.

Gallardo's struggles in the League continue. Exceptional cup record but unable to get consistency within his team over a season.

River losing 0-1 at half-time.
Watched most of the second half as was waiting on River for a BTTS acca.

I have to say, they looked absolutely dreadful. No cutting edge and saw at least 3 balls knocked out the park under no pressure. Very disappointing, hard to believe they’re the South American champions.

Defensa y Justicia looked very well organised, although they had very little to defend for most of the second half.

Defensa keep the pressure on by winning today, while Tucumán & Huracán continue their chase with victories.

Leaders Racing, however, take an early lead vs. Aldovisi in the evening game. Racing have taken a large travelling support with them.

Aldovisi are based in Mar del Plata, a lovely resort and fishing port on the Atlantic Ocean, about 4 hours drive south of Buenos Aires.

Apparently the club has French heritage (their original jerseys were red, white and blue) and the name is derived from first two syllables of the engineers and owners of the local construction company: Allard, Doulfus, Sillard and Wiriott.

And as I type, Aldovisi equalise! A mistake in midfield, ball won and a nice through ball to Chavez with a cool finish. Aldovisi, currently 9th in the table, are playing some decent stuff.

Racing's manager Coudet prowls the touchline in disgust.

First question of the year! Why are Racing and San Lorenzo fans at away games and no Rosario fans at Huracan?

Don't know the specific answer, but I'll guess it's something to do with Huracán being in Buenos Aires, especially the south of the city.

While away fans were allowed back this season, the 'big five' of Boca, Independiente, Racing Club, River Plate and San Lorenzo decided against it. All of these teams are in BA.

First question of the year! Why are Racing and San Lorenzo fans at away games and no Rosario fans at Huracan?

Location and potential for trouble. Huracan is in BA, Defensa is in Greater BA and Aldosivi is in Mar del Plata.

Don't know if this is the exact reason, things change quickly in Argentina (and move slowly), so there may be something else.

Independiente 1-1 Talleres, a blow for El Rojo and their Libertadores qualification hopes conceding an equaliser in the 80th minute.

River Plate vs. Patronato starting shortly with new-look Boca playing the late game, away to Newell's.

Both teams need to win.

Just over an hour gone and a stunning scoreline: River 0-3 Patronato, Avalos hat-trick!

River just pull one back. Great strike from Ferreira. Highly enjoyable game.

Peach of a finish from Benedetto draws Boca level, 1-1. On his return, Maxi Rodriguez had opened the scoring for Newell's.

Heading into the last 10 minutes with both teams looking for the winner. Some crowd packed in the stadium. Looks great.

Racing had a decent looking run-in, although a big game at home to Huracán this weekend.

Hopefully Defensa can stay in touch as they are set to play Racing on the last day of the season.

The Union bus driver managed to drive the vehicle through a wall outside Belgrano's stadium injuring a policeman in the process:

Roma offer Boca €5m for an 18 month loan of Wilmar Barrios with an option to buy for €16m if he plays a certain amount of games.

Clubs in Argentina's second and third tiers will now have to pay their players by bank transfer and not cash. Welcome to the 21st century.
