Thompsons partner Patrick McGuire speaks to BBC Radio Scotland’s Good Morning Scotland Programme. He highlights the fact that Celtic Football Club are closely intertwined and that Celtic FC must settle civil claims brought against them by survivors of sexual abuse.

This particular snowball is getting bigger by the day.

Got speaking to one of them while on holiday, he reckons that a few of them have been speaking about the ongoing cases and want the support to acknowledge the victims by dedicating their light show thing this Thursday at 67 minutes to the abused.

Highly doubt it, but if they did and the press picked up on it it may show there is some compassion amongst them.

Don't think the club would be happy with that.Seperate entity and all that

The Bheasts are still not apologising. That would be an admission of guilt mind you.
Apologies are too late anyway. Maybe they apologised back in the day to the familes involved in private when BJK was doing the rounds.

Not a chance that happens. Their lunatic fringe would not allow it.

Settlements should only come after a full and transparent public enquiry into the goings on and subsequent cover up at that club. Heads should roll for this from the top to the bottom. Directors, journalists, MP's and whoever's else has had a direct or indirect hand in this horrible, horrible mess.

Only then should figures be spoken about.

If they apologised now it’d be obvious it was because of pressure.

They’ve already blown any chance of coming out if this with any kind of credit at all.

Nope it would show the club and the boys club are one and the same, the filthy harbourers will swerve all association with antly compassion that sees them go out of business. Scum the lot of them

The interviewer was certainly pushing the scum position of being a separate entity and well done to Patrick McGuire in smacking down this beggar narrative. They left these young guys in the care of monsters and turned a blind eye to their sustained abuse over length of time saying nothing. Scum is the word that just about covers them

It would certainly show up their lunatic fringe if that was the case, no lights shining would highlight the ones who are comfortable to be acknowledged as a harbourer willing to turn a blind eye to the devastation of the victims and their family's.
I think It's too far gone now to pull back from this for many, acceptance from a majority of their support can't be far off surely?

Question...did Celtic have any "in house" youth teams during the Celtic Boys Club years? Did Rangers youths for example play Celtic Youths or Celtic Boys Club?

Fair play to the man for giving her short shrift.

"the two were utterly intertwined ..... the truth is Celtic Boys Club was the de facto, and probably more than that, youth system for Celtic Football Club .... CFC benefited year on year from players that came from CBC ..... you couldn't become a player at CFC without coming through CBC"

"they will be facing their day in the civil courts very very soon"

True in what he says.

Celtic benefitted from them for years.

I hope it all comes out.

Most importantly the family get justice.
Made that point in a thread yesterday.
They took all the acclaim for their superb youth policy, often at our expense, including the much heralded “Quality Street Kids”.
The had first option on the CBC players.
The CBC directors were also Celtic officials.
Anything negative though?
Separate Entity!

That is never gonna happen, a few months ago one of them started a thread on Kerrydale St saying that they need to start talking about this and it was pulled

A light show at 67 minutes..? Just what the victims of sexual abuse, some on the very grounds of the Piggery, need.

Maybe a genuine apology by the head mutants and those still alive who once were in power would be the proper thing. In fact Celtic FC should be looking to do something permanent for these people. Something honourable.

We need a forensic accountant to scrutinise CFC accounts.

1. Chase down payments to Trophy centre and get an explanation as to why £250,000 exactly for 4 years were paid.

2. Check to see if anyone on the St Pats structure had NI contributions or salary paid by the parent company.

HMRC should make Q1 their priority and compensation lawyers should make Q2 theirs

They do this on 67 minutes anyway. You ask any mentally challenged on thursday why they're doing their wee light show they'll tell you a very different answer. Don't let them fool you.

The interviewer from the BBC was trying to get Mr McGuire to say that celtic were not involved. He explained the reasons they were involved. When it goes to court there might be hundreds of cases maybe thousands.

She was right to point out Celtics stance and to ask his opinion on it. What was odd was that after the lengthy and convincing rebuttal, she took the time to round off the interview insisting that Celtic claim to have done nothing wrong. A very strange tone in which to end an interview that Celtic don't want any part of.

So there is substance to what the guy was speaking of? I had it down as a guy with a few beers too many in him trying to come over as a responsible human being. I don't have any celtc fans in my daily circle or go on any of their sites etc.
The closest i see are the maniacs who post shite on social media, surely there must be a sizeable amount who as these beasts are being convicted one by one can see this was under their watch, and is not acceptable in any way to turn a blind eye, it totally goes against all normal human behaviour!

Were the questions directly submitted to the interviewer by the fat Japanese?
Don’t know who the female was but she either is well versed on the subject and part of the New Stance by Celtic of them having nothing to do with it or she knows exactly what is going on.
She certainly wasn’t middle grounds seeing both sides of the whole torrid part of Celtics history

It was the supporters he was referring to regarding the gesture, it might just finally be dawning on some of them that it's is no longer acceptable to turn a blind eye.

Only some of them.

Most of them on social media won't even discuss it or try and deflect.

There's no way on earth this would happen - there'd literally be fighting in the stands.

There’s a little glimpse into a potentially repugnant defence set to be played here by Celtic.

“They’re only trying to link the two entities to make money.”

Making the football club, and not those sexually assaulted, the victim.

Well done Patrick, he sounds very confident of getting these families the justice they deserve.

There were no other Celtic youth teams. Celtic boys club was the Celtic youth team.
That, I believe, is what the poster was trying to establish.
Getting confirmation, more like.
Next question would be, and from memory, there must be plenty of examples of the answer, is there anywhere Celtic FC take credit for the youth players coming through?

And its on full tilt to become fact mate, the more the message is put out the more history is being rewritten in front of our eyes, they know exactly how to use the media and fake news.

To shine the light on the 67th minute is shining a light on steins roll which is good.
