Albion Rovers - looks bleak

IIRC a poll of the lower leagues which asked if they would consider regionalisation was almost entirely rejected, so clubs like Albion rovers are quite happy to play Peterhead on a Tuesday night

If it was Doncaster proposing it he was probably suggesting 4 leagues of 8 playing each other 3 times a year then a split between top & bottom 4 and then a playoff at the end that nobody can make sense out of.

Speaking of the Highland League, just looking at the current standings just now and Fort William are rock bottom after 26 games with -7 points and a -171 goal difference.

Wtf?

They’ll learn from this, they’ll just take it on the chin and then go again.

Albion Rovers would go into the Lowland League.
If a North League club lost the play off they would go into the Highland League.
Effectively could mean odd number of teams in either Lowland or Highland League

The Highland League had an odd number of teams for a few years until they admitted three new teams in 2009.

Well got no sympathy for any team going bust or down the leagues . After what they done to us . Will never forget.

Is it next season or the season after that the east of Scotland league becomes part of the pyramid? Plenty of big junior sides who will be in the lowland league soon.
Yes it is. Looks like either Penicuik Bonnyrigg or Broxburn going into the lowland. They will play off against each other to see who goes up. But it's only penicuiks ground that comes up to standard so not sure what happens if either of the other 2 wins the play off

Was at the game v Peterhead on Sat and pretty even first half but a couple of goal line clearances and a great save by Albion keeper kept Rovers in it till the og but great goal in injury time to equalise.

It’s time to regionalise the bottom two leagues with the non leagues and put it into the 4 regional sections

North, South, East and West.

Two top leagues of sixteen with play off off etc

The top league has a split after 30 games and the top 4 play each other home and away

36 games, 4 Rangers v Bheasts, keeps everyone happy

That's not a bad shout

A once proud club (supported by a couple of pals of mine) with their own assets (stadium etc) but adrift at bottom of League 2. The general feeling is that if they drop out the leagues it will be flats soon...local council very unwilling to find a sportsground they can use and local people tend to support ra hoopsh.

A shame, they once played in cup finals, and in the top division.

Great wee stadium too as it has a wee pub inside it and terracing where people can abuse linesmen and players!
Will be saying much the same about Alloa in 10 years no doubt.
They'll fuck up anything to keep their transit van "steaming" on!

How did they vote on what should happen to us? So I can see the argument of them having little sympathy from some Rangers fans.
It was the SPL clubs who voted to remove us, the lower league clubs had to vote on whether we're should be allowed to re-enter in the first division, which they rejected by 25 votes to 5. You can hardly blame the lower league teams for not wanting to give us a free ride at their expense when it was the SPL who kicked us out.

Good to see them stay up. Dads side of the family are from Coatbridge so they’re my Grandpas 2nd team (Rangers first) Would go to see them when down visiting as a kid.

I used to work with a guy in the sixties who played for Rovers and Brechin, Les Sneddon, your dad/grandad might remember him.
