Do you think for a moment the people in power will have any qualms whatsoever about continuing to hide the child sexual abuse that took place at Celtic Park over 40 years?

Claims that a paedophile ring operated at the highest echelons of the Scottish legal establishment are being considered by prosecutors.

Police Scotland spent five years investigating allegations that senior Scottish lawyers carried out acts of child sexual abuse in the 1970s and 1980s.

Among the alleged members of the paedophile ring were the late Tory MP Sir Nicholas Fairbairn, QC, a close ally of Margaret Thatcher, and the late Robert Henderson, QC.

The investigation was triggered by Henderson’s daughter, Susie, who described being repeatedly raped between the ages of 4 and 12 by her father and other men.

Police Scotland has passed a report on its findings to the Crown Office.


The lord advocate, James Wolffe, QC, Scotland’s chief prosecutor, will now decide whether anyone should face charges. If he does decide to prosecute, it will send shockwaves through the legal establishment.

Ms Henderson, 52, said that she hoped her allegations would lead to the men being charged.
“The awful things I went through as a child, things no child should ever experience, have affected every day of my life and will continue to haunt me,” she said.
“To see even one man on trial and having to answer for what they did to me would mean that the last five very difficult years had not been for nothing.”
Ms Henderson told detectives in 2014 that she had been abused and raped from the age of four or five by Sir Nicholas, the solicitor-general for Scotland between 1979 and 1982, whose responsibilities included the prosecution of sex offenders.
She also alleged that she was subjected to horrific sexual abuse by her father and some men that he brought to the house. Many are dead, but it is understood that at least three of the accused are still alive.
Police Scotland and the Crown have kept a tight lid on all the information gathered by detectives, but it is likely that, as with all allegations of historical child sex abuse, corroboration will be the key to the final decision on whether to prosecute.
Ms Henderson waived her right to anonymity when she made her allegations. Since then she has refused to discuss details of her claims before any possible trial or decision on prosecution.
She said last night, however, that the investigation had been “a nightmare, a brutal ordeal” and that her life had not been her own for almost five years.
Detectives at West Lothian have been carrying out the investigation and have travelled widely to gather evidence and get witness statements. Sources have said that Mr Henderson would have faced charges had he still been alive.

Unbelievable, makes it very difficult to believe it was just unfortunate recruitment when there's been that many in the one club. Add to the fact they brought torbett back in once they knew what he was. Points to it being orchestrated somehow, especially when it seemed to be an 'open secret'.

Are there more that are awaiting charges or is he the last?

Can anyone give more information on the 1M celtic paid to torbett?

I understand your post to an extent but are you saying we should just accept this and say nothing, that there is no chance anything will be done?
 
When this trial happens tomorrow, is it the kind of thing that'll be done in one day? Or is it like one of out sports direct trials?

No quite the opposite, but we all have a part to play. Bluenoses in Glasgow voted for a Labour party for 40 years that openly discriminated against them - Lally, Kelly, McAveety, Purcell, Mathieson, Mosson, the list is endless. You're faced with totally apathy and indifference even when being fucked over.

If you want to beat them you have to get into the sewer and fight them in their turf, as a community we need to become much more active in every sense. I could go on about this for a long time.
 
I wonder if its going to take a court case to blow the separate entity thing out the water or if they will do the right things by the victims and settle out of court.

Do any of the victims have claims in?
 
What I find strange that with the news of what's happening tomorrow there is not one newspaper or news outlet or news reporter up here saying anything about it. This is a major story that's gonna blow the " seperate entity " pish out the water as he was 1st team kit man. There will be no where to hide from tomorrow see what statement comes out tomorrow

I agree with you, but that may take some time to get the swamp drained, the SNP should be made accountable regarding the way they have ignored these families. As much publicity as possible and discredited at the UK parliament where these crimes should be heard could help in their downfall.

The sun article comes across as a joke. They are making light of 2 guys who raped kids having an argument. I know I expect too much of the sun but these low lives deserve to be treated with contempt and loathing Not a piece about how they are lover and had a little argument.

You think he will be sentenced tomorrow? My money is on an adjournment for all the usual reports etc. The main thing is the Guilty pleas being recorded as it should mean any reporting restrictions are lifted.

The sentence provoked outrage from one children’s charity after it emerged that none of the boys on the 250 images taken by Cullen had been traced.


A spokeswoman for Children First said: "Behind every indecent image of a child, there’s a real child. Children depend on adults to keep them safe.

"It is essential that the offending behaviour is addressed and that offenders are not released back on to the streets to repeat such crimes against children.

"We must show children that they can come forward to tell about their experiences."

Cullen’s crime was first uncovered in May 2002, when cleaners were sweeping out a room at Celtic Park where Cullen kept his equipment.



The workers discovered a black bin bag and opened it to check if it was rubbish. Instead, however, they found bundles of black and white photos of nude and semi-naked young boys.

Officials at the club immediately called the police, before quizzing the married father-of-two about the photos. He admitted to inviting children to a house in Glasgow in 1982, where he took a series of photographs.

Cullen had first appeared in court last October, but the case was continually adjourned to allow police to try to identify the victims.

Despite prosecutors calling in specialist help from Scotland Yard’s paedophile unit, they still remain nameless.



Procurator-fiscal Liz Ramsey did say, however, it was believed the boys were aged between ten and 13.

True but the charges will tell a lot the main thing I think about today is that all upto date cases are now dealt with so the floodgates will open regarding what can be said or printed. All major news channels have already done interviews with families also heard one channel tonight was filming at the statues and were asked or told to move

If he pleads today the judge will ask for a social enquiry report, that's the norm before sending anyone to prison.
It's in case there's let say a handicapped child in the scenario.

This guy is key I thought in dispelling the separate entity myth. I'm just curious how this gets officially recognized as fact that he was under Celtics employment....if that makes sense?

This. From bottom to top the judiciary is full of on message fans who will ensure true justice is not seen. A compliant media will assist as far as practically possible. They couldn’t have been luckier given who’s in power politically. The biggest scandal in British sport and it’ll be confined to a couple of days of coverage at best.
