Rangers response to Mark Daly's Gordon Neely article

It would appear the BBC have fucked any chance of reconciling with the club now!

Well in Rangers. Get after them!

Problem here now is that suddenly we’re the focus of abuse.

Daly leads with his piece that infers there was other crimes committed by Neely and contends we covered them up.

The club are then dutybound to respond, which they have done, and that will now form the basis of tomorrow’s print as this is dragged out for as long as they can to instil the belief that we were also involved with abuse and covering it up and ensuring the spotlight is diverted away from the Beasts.

The club should be demanding a retraction of certain elements of Daly’s piece as well as an apology from him and the BBC.

Swift, straight to the point responce and the recognition of victims of these beasts and also calling out the BBC for what they are and what they think of our Club.

Well done Rangers.

The fact that they used an actor to articulate the abused lad in such a manner was ridiculous. The final words uttered 'Cover up' by the actor was as Rangers have said in their statement was 'sensationalist' in the tone used.

Why use an actor rather than just report his words?

I am so delighted Rangers have not remained silent and hope there is more to come.

Time to tell BBC ...'Right, we've told you what we think. Now, this is what we are going to do!

So, what do we do......sue, ban, seek an apology. ?

the club shouldn't stoop to demanding an apology/retraction this is not the subject matter to argue over with stuff like this, their well toned statement implies the bias without actually saying it, we as fans should be content with how the club is handling it, because of course all focus should be on the victim(s)

A very good response from Rangers, perfectly summing up the facts and the continuing selective treatment of our club by a thoroughly discredited organisation.

What else you expecting at this stage ?

Nothing seems to satisfy you about our club.

Things will going on behind the scenes.

You want all the hands dealt early ?

Its war. Stopping messing around.

What do you mean "at this stage"? Do you think there'll be another stage?

Incase anyone has missed the added final paragraph.

'Ridiculous claims of a cover up against those seeking to deal with such matters in a sensitive manner suggests sensationalism and in this instance point to a desire to attack Rangers as being more important to those reporting these horrific incidents than looking after the victims of abuse.’

It’s actually not hard hitting enough.

No one will bother about our response and instead the biggest noise will continue to emanate from these spurious allegations.

There should have been an addendum that we were consulting with our lawyers.

Hopefully that’s exactly what we’re doing in private.

make the BBC apologise , horrible, they must have something on celtic but before they can report on them , they are trying to soften the blow by reporting on us
It's like a kid giving it aye but he did it too so why should I get all the blame
The governing body of news media should be made aware of these articles where they're is a continuous string of damning news articles against the club. First phone call should be from rangers legal team about certain employees of the BBC having a mission to harm the club

It looks like they’re trying to poke us with a big stick..
But if we act with dignity and professionalism,, this could open up a large can of worms for a certain club.
Do we have the balls to say, let’s bring it on.

That’s a fairly strong statement from Rangers.

I just hope that we have the evidence to totally back that up. “First hand account at the time” doesn’t fill me with much confidence and wouldn’t stand up to much scrutiny in court. I’d really prefer hard evidence in some form of correspondence.
But if we had that we obviously wouldn’t be dealing with this issue.

If we have proper evidence then the club has got to hammer them.

We also need to call for a full scale inquiry. If we have failed a single victim we need to take that blame and any punishment.

That goes for every club in Scotland

That’s a wilfully naive viewpoint I’m afraid.

We’ve just had the BBC recycle a spurious claim that we also covered up abuse and that there may have been more of it than previously known.

The club and its reputation is under attack and for the most transparent and despicable of reasons, yet we’re still expected to retain our decorum and remain focussed on the victims?

Sorry, they really see us coming sometimes.

To pull out a small paragraph in a fanzine about a guy leaving the club, probably written by the editor, who is hardly in the know, can never be equated with a cover up

Hope that the Club is just starting with this "response" and that there's alot more to come from them, much stronger with perhaps just a hint of menace of legal action against Daly himself but also his employers ,there are 2 witnesses to what went on at that time I hope the club will be contacting both of them to inform them what has been written and the reply given ,they might want to take civil action against the aforementioned culprits

If its the same victim, his father was a policeman, and he was informed by the club of the allegation against Neely. For the BBC then to infer that the police weren't told is blatantly a lie.

It's being sent to media organisations who have asked the club to comment.

The one media organisation that SHOULD have asked the club to comment is the BBC prior to putting that misinformation out there. To not do so indicates they had no story and that this was about causing damage rather than getting the truth in print. The club should consider legal action and a full enquiry into 2 areas of concern: 1. Child abuse in Scottish Football/Sport and 2. Journalistic standards of the BBC

Its in their dna they start to do the right thing by exposing the paedophiles at Celtic . But revert to type by trying to divert and deflect its the catholic cult way. Daly is as much part of the cult because he attended a bigot factory school where they are taught to hate.

Club 1872 are not taking the BBC on strongly enough IMO. Until a properly organised and motivated anti supporters group is set up that deals solely with issues relating to this kind of reporting, offences such as the effegies, downright hatred and violence against Rangers supporters and Protestants or those perceived to be Protestant then our voice will go nowhere.

The more extreme catholics in Scotland, i.e Daly, BBC CFC are the ones who revel in anti Irish/Catholicism, they are out to promote, apart from themselves, a message that the very existence of the Orange Order and the Protestant faith is anti catholic.

There is a frenzy of activity to drum up support for the acknowledgement that wide spread anti irish/catholic sectarianism is rife in Scotland.
All the while we sit and do very very little but type on our keyboards about the injustice of it all and how the club should be tackling this robustly.

Sadly, I think we need to take things to the next step and that means a number of us coming together at an agreed location and time to openly discuss how we combat this rising tide of anti Rangers and Protestant behaviour in Scotland.

A year ago I was debating with other posters the merits of starting up a Rangers Pressure Group.
The "Rangers Supporters Against Sectarianism!" or Rangers SAS.

Fellow Bears volunteered to assist and on that thread I made some suggestions for a draft Constitution.

The initial phase of the strategic plan would be to proclaim The Rangers SAS formation as a registered charity. It's aim would be to defend our proud heritage and to seek out and attack our detractors by highlighting their hatred and exposing their skewed sectarian bias.

We list the songs that we Rangers Supporters proudly sing with the correct words. Follow Follow, The Blue Sea of Ibrox , Derry's Walls, Father's Advice, The Sash and Build My Gallows to name but a few. We produce and distribute a 'Rangers Supporters against Sectarianism Song Book'. This will detail the correct words with no add-ons whatsoever.

We highlight how these songs are NOT sectarian in content, they are traditional songs some of which are proudly loyalist. We acknowledge that they offend republicans that hate the country they live in, however we make no apology to the permanently offended.

When we have established to the world that our house is in order we begin a second strategic phase.

We detail the clear agenda of organisations such as NBM and FARE by highlighting their complete lack of action against the terrorist lovers in the East End and their historical bias against Rangers Supporters.

We highlight the weekly pro-IRA and anti-Protestant songbook from our enemies across the city. Exposing the distastefully sick songs and graffiti they pollute our town with when referencing the tragedy that was The Ibrox Disaster.

We show the world that we have to share a city with those that refuse to adhere to a simple minutes silence to honour our war dead and their repugnant annual refusal to publicly support The Poppy Appeal.

We provide the press with evidence of political bias, highlighting the likes of the bigot Dornan and his previous references to Rangers Supporters as h#ns. THE BBC amongst many others have been shown to hate us, Daly's recent piece being a prime example. Hate Crime is rife and it travels both ways, for us it's a single carriageway. For our enemies it's an 8 lane autobahn.

We need to ask the difficult questions of our politicians and our judiciary, for example: what action was taken (either by their club or the courts) against the celtc supporters that staged two 'mock executions' of Protestant Rangers Supporters at Parkhead years ago and the outcome of the investigation into lost evidence? These supporters engaged in a public display of threatening sectarian behaviour that was intended to incite public disorder. What punishment did they receive, was it comparable to a Rangers supporter being jailed for singing a song? No actually. At the same time 8 celtc supporters were charged with public order offences for wearing t ' shirts sorting the IRA, that case has disappeared behind the bench of a biased sheriff that favours ra sellik.

We need to highlight the lies and sectarian nature of individual reporters, BBC Pacific Quay CFC employees such as this bhigot Daly and Skeletor and certain publications editorial staff (i.e. Hamilton in the Record etc.) by providing detailed evidence of their lies and bias.

We expose the previous behaviour of FARE, such as when they provided names and addresses of complainants directly to Celtc FC. We highlight that organisations links to Celtc supporters and the anti Rangers views of their UK staff. One of their wives even appears on a video singing anti British songs at a friendly away game... allegedly.

We reveal to the country that the official Celtc FC Supporters representative publicly stated he wished more protestants had been killed in the Titanic. The poster @Maude managed to get NBM's Dave Scott to admit that Celtic's supporters chief, Joe O'Rourke's comment about the Titanic builders drowning was "sectarian". Maude still has the letter and, surprise surprise, O'Rourke is still in position at Parkhead and is still to this day pestering the SFA to strip our licence issued years ago. Another prominent celtc supporters representive employed at Glasgow University regularly broadcasts on various social media platforms her support for a proscribed terrorist organisation.

For those that say ignore them, don't listen, don't read them, I say no. That's why we are where we are today - because of our inertia. For those that say, this is the Club's responsibility, I also disagree - our continued inaction (the strongest supporter group in the country) will be our downfall. The Club and Club1872 cannot fight them all without us.

I've said numerous times that linking any 'pressure/action group' to the Club would have no useful value and may inadvertently take the group's focus off the targets. So much overt racism and sectarianism is perpetually directed towards us (Rangers Supporters) and us alone, so we respond by fighting back.

We remain disparate from any decision making that goes on at our Club and that leaves us free to attack our enemies head on. It would also mean we don't need to seek the Club's validation and we remain independent. We could form this pressure group to exert 'our will' on the Club whilst unfettered by corporate protocol (such as the constitutional rules that govern Club1872), we begin straight away in 'full on attack mode'.

Our enemies have control of the press. Mcglennan, the head of The SFA, also oversees the media in the employ of Dermot Desmond. Shifty McGifty is a man who has admitted 'I hate those bastards' when discussing the Rangers Support and we sit idly waiting for Dave King to defend us. No. It's no longer acceptable to turn the other cheek. . The fight belongs to us. WE defend ourselves.

The relentless dehuminising of you, me, our families and the demonising of our Club has to stop. Our Board can't take this fight on entirely, they are battling to reinstate the Club's worldwide brand. We have to help them fight back in this relentless war of attrition that's been waged against us for decades.

this should be the straw that broke the camels back for rangers to say %^*& it lets go for them and collect every lie and abuse they've printed against us and them ban them sine die from Ibrox not just bbc scotland but the whole organisation as those in london have sat back and let it happen and even in some cases promoted outright lies against us
