'NOT FIT ENOUGH, NOT EVEN SURPRISED' - ASTON VILLA FANS SHARE DIFFERENT THOUGHTS AFTER LATE DEFEAT TO LIVERPOOL
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has refused to comment on speculation surrounding his side and a move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.
Morelos has been heavily linked with Villa , who are thought to be in the market for a striker once the transfer window re-opens in January.

The Colombian hot-shot netted his 21st goal of the season last night , in Rangers' 2-0 defeat of FC Porto in the Europa League.
He also assisted Steven Davis' goal for the Gers' second, with the 23-year-old showing once again why Premier League clubs have been touted as possible destinations for the former HJK Helsinki man.

Morelos has spoken of his desire to move to the top flight and Smith is an admirer, commenting on his goal.
But he refused to talk extensively about another club's player.

"I certainly saw his goal last night," Smithsaid.

"It was a very good finish.
"He's a player who is contracted to another football club and we aren't a club that talks about them."

Code for 'were desperate for a goal scorer'

It's definitely looking like Alfie's going to be a record breaker, regardless of when he goes.

I just hope we can keep him until the Summer. All the speculation is getting tiring though.

Big club, great fans a strong history with a European cup. Massive financial backing behind them now and they’ll only push on. Morelos won’t get a move to a Chelsea/Man Utd/Arsenal etc yet. Needs a stepping stone and Villa would be that
We will agree to disagree, I think he will get a far better move than Villa.

We could easily stamp out the January nonsense by saying it's 50m or something to show that we are not wanting to do business

No way he’s going to that dogshite of a club.

Morelos can do much better than Villa or Crystal Palace.

I know his dream is to play in the EPL but him and his agent would be mad not to hold out for a better move than that.

A stepping stone? Why?
It’s good for rangers that players who have gone fine there have done well. McGinn van dyke etc.
That plus - big plus- the fact he’s scoring in Europe to means he won’t need a stepping stone.

Currently 3 ‘Morelos might be off’ threads on FF. Can we not believe our manager, and bin this stuff unless a bid is actually made in Jan? Don’t see the point in worrying everyone when there’s zero substance to any of it. The man is here till June. Believe it.
