RANGERS Football Club are delighted to confirm the signing of Venezuelan internationalist Sonia O’Neill subject to international clearance.

The 25-year-old midfielder joins the Light Blues from French club Fleury on a one-year deal.

The Canadian-born player started her club career at Swedish club Husqvarna FF, before a spell in Italy playing for Roma and Pink Bari.

She then moved to Croatia signing for ZNK Split where she represented them at Champions League level, before moving to her most recent club in France.

Women’s and Girls’ Football Manager Amy McDonald said: “We are delighted to welcome someone with the experience that Sonia has to the club as we continue to build for the start of next season.

“She is a powerful international midfielder with Venezuela and has experience playing in Italy and France at a high level.”
