Celtic share price falling

Spoke to the hearts fan in my work and its the first he'd heard of it, but he was quite shocked and thought it was definitely interesting.

Just shows how the news isn't getting out apart from through us. Would love to someone mentioned on the phone ins, even if they don't dicuss it people will hear it and it may start interest.

No wonder the news isn't 'getting out' when half the folk on here are pouring cold water on anyone suggesting there's trouble in store for the mentally challengeds.
The place is fucking infested with ***s

Looking at it with 8 cans - The share price went inexplicably high in September - it's just returned to where it was before that.

Paedophiles in football ‘co-operated as a network’

Barry Bennell was given a 30-year sentence

An investigation has been opened into claims that some of the country’s most notorious predators worked together in a paedophile network that preyed on young footballers.
A review commissioned by the Scottish FA will hear evidence next week that Barry Bennell, a former scout with Manchester City and Crewe Alexandra, and Jim McCafferty, a former Celtic kitman and boys’ club coach, were part of an organised cross-border abuse ring.
Bennell, 66, is serving a 30-year sentence for abusing boys on what was described as an “industrial scale”. McCafferty was jailed last year for molesting youngsters over a period of 24 years.
Harry Dunn, the former Rangers and Liverpool youth scout, died before he could stand trial over abuse charges in 2017
One survivor has presented fresh evidence, claiming he was abused separately by McCafferty and Bennell after being introduced to them by Bill Kelly, a former coach with the now defunct West Lothian team Uphall Saints.
Kelly, 84, was jailed for sexually assaulting at least 12 players at the club over a period of 22 years.

Another one of his victims claimed that Kelly was an associate of Harry Dunn, the former Rangers and Liverpool youth scout, who died before he could stand trial over abuse charges in 2017.
Malcolm, 48, from Glasgow, was subjected to two years of abuse in the mid-1980s after attending games, trials and tournaments in Scotland, England and Spain. He said: “I was abused by men who went on to be convicted of multiple offences, involving large numbers of victims, over exceptionally long periods of time. They were prolific, connected and worked together.
“I have no idea how this network of predatory paedophiles came into being or was put together, but it existed and it ruined countless young lives. Scottish FA executives need to sit in a room with myself and the other abuse victims, hear our statements, look us straight in the eye and see if they can continue to deny responsibility and liability.”

James, 62, from Lanarkshire, claims he was regularly taken to a health centre in Edinburgh city centre with other boys after they had been abused by Kelly in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He insists that Kelly, who served as secretary of the West Lothian Association of Youth Football Clubs, would take them to a sauna where he would introduce them to “friends”, including a referee, child protection officer and a man he now believes was Dunn.
James said: “You can’t help but think there was a definite interlinking and knowledge of what was going on by abusers. These guys knew each other and worked together.”
Their evidence will now form part of the Independent Review of Sexual Abuse in Scottish Football, whose final report will be published this year.
The Times understands it has already received evidence that McCafferty took youngsters from Glasgow to a tournament in the northwest of England where Bennell was in attendance.
Bennell was found guilty in February 2018 of 43 charges of historical child sexual abuse.
A junior football coach and youth scout, he boasted that he could find young star players for professional football clubs. He repeatedly abused boys while promising to further their careers and is serving his fourth prison sentence for child sexual abuse.
Once a youth player at Chelsea, Bennell is most closely associated with Crewe Alexandra, where he worked in the 1980s and 1990s. Bennell also ran summer holiday camps in the UK, often held at Butlin’s, youth football tours and “soccer camps” in the US and it was in there that his crimes first came to light.
In 1994, police in Jacksonville, Florida, charged him with sexually abusing a 13-year-old British boy on a tour. The trip reportedly involved young footballers aged 11 to 14.
According to a court report in the Birmingham Mail at the time, Bennell was arrested after the boy returned home from a camp and told his parents he had been abused. Bennell was sentenced to four years in a US prison.
A source close to the Scottish FA review said that they would share the fresh evidence with counterparts at the English FA. They said: “Testimony which speaks to a connection between a high profile offender in Scotland and a very high profile offender in England would be included in our report.”
Manchester City confirmed its own internal abuse investigation had established that Bennell took youth teams to tournaments in Scotland.
The Scottish FA said it would be willing to meet both men, listen to their concerns and offer support.
A spokesman said: “The chief executive has issued a heartfelt apology on behalf of Scottish football to those with personal experience of sexual abuse in our national game. We acknowledge the very deep impact experiences of sexual abuse has had on many individuals and that is why we commissioned the independent review.”
Kelly denies having any connection with McCafferty, Bennell or Dunn.

Pot-bellied and yellow-fingered from decades of chain smoking, Bill Kelly was an unlikely Svengali figure.
Yet for generations of boys growing up in the council estates of West Lothian he was the man who could make their dreams of becoming a professional footballer come true.
As manager of Uphall Saints, the most successful team in the county, and secretary of the district football association, his influence and connections to the talent scouts, or “jackets”, were unrivalled.
Now, decades later, survivors of his abuse have come forward claiming that Kelly was an active part of an organised paedophile network involving some of the most notorious abusers in Britain’s sporting history.
His modus operandi was to single out boys, shower them with gifts and attention and tell them they had a great chance of making it, but only if they attended additional trials and training sessions.

One such player was James, now 62, who, at the age of 12, was told by Kelly he could become team captain.
“That was the start of the invites round to his flat on a Saturday after games,” he recalled.
“He was very well connected and I had no reason to doubt he could deliver on the promises he was making. There were two or three of us and Kelly would start by discussing how the game had gone. Then he would say, ‘It’s time to loosen off before training tomorrow, so let’s get a hot bath.’
“After that, he’d pick us off one by one and take us to his bedroom. It went from playing and touching to rape.”
Kelly would take his victims to the Olympic Health Club, now closed, in Edinburgh’s Lothian Road.”
James and the others found themselves being paraded in front of Kelly’s “friends” in the sauna.
“It was nowhere near where he lived but now it is obvious why he chose it,” he said. “It was a place where men, who had similar desires to him, would meet.”
James believes one regular attender was Harry Dunn, a stalwart of Edinburgh youth football, who went on to scout for Rangers, Chelsea and Liverpool. He died in 2017, while awaiting trial on child sex charges.
James outgrew Uphall Saints, telling no one about the abuse. Newspaper reports described it as a “prolific feeder team” and reveal the club invited representatives of Celtic FC to an event, thanking them “for the kind and practical interest they have shown in the [club].”
In 1983, Malcolm joined Uphall Saints as an enthusiastic and gifted 13-year-old. Within months he had been invited to Kelly’s flat where he was told to try on swimming trunks and shown gay pornography before being subjected to horrendous sexual abuse.
Malcolm claims Kelly and McCafferty, who he recognised as the trainer of neighbouring Fauldhouse United and is now a convicted paedophile, abused him together many times.
A year later he accompanied Kelly on a trip to Blackpool, enticed by suggestions it could lead to him being signed by a big club.
“I was told a man wanted to meet me. Kelly told me he was the lead scout for Crewe and his name was Barry Bennell. He said that if I showed my ‘appreciation’ then he could open doors and get me noticed.”
Malcolm claimed Bennell then abused him, alongside Kelly.

Their paedophile ring went into Scotland's care system too. McCafferty drove kids in the care of Fairbridge Scotland to organised events, and Torbett became the charity's managing director.
It defies belief that no one has investigated their connections to Fairbridge further, and that no questions are being asked by Scotland's journalists. Scotland's establishment go to great lengths protecting their paedophiles.

100% Spot on. To think the lengths that Mark Daly, Alex Thompson went too and yet those are only the two journalists that done any type of investigating all be it one sided. It was an attempt at investigating and publishing their findings. All these tabloids journos out their on the pay roll are basically just bloggers. They are an embarrassment to their profession.

For such hideous crimes and the amount of evidence uncovered by many on here, sometimes I wonder if we should set up a fund for this to be investigated properly. MPs, Police, Journalists and all have obvious agendas or are being silenced. Its time this was exposed for what it is, Scotland biggest open secret. If in the USA this would have been dealt with no matter who it upsets.

What's the parlance on here now for this, boom headshot, nail on head, Haymaker or what?

Do they need to spend money on the stadium for their safety certificate . There is also the millions put by for compensation to victims of abuse .
Don’t know how the abuse claims will pan out since they may be, at least partially, underwritten by their insurers who have already appointed someone in a legal capacity to review the situation. The financial hit for this contingent liability is very much up in the air.

Regarding spending money on a Safety Certificate I am unsure who would pay for this since they don’t actually own the Stadium (or Park as it’s called).

Regarding the Safety Certificate what is the likelihood of an SNP controlled Local Authority (or even Labour if they ever got back in) forcing them to spend money without awarding them some form of Grant not available to others?

When it comes to getting favourable treatment from the Local Government I wouldn’t put anything past them. Remember they had an independent Report carried out after the crowd crushing during the first Old Firm match at the Piggery following our allocation being cut to 800.

What’s the chances that this, so called Independent Report, results in it all being our fault and that they get a “Grant” to sort things out.

I'd expect most companies to make a statement after a fall in share price of 18.43% in the space of a week.

Only so far the shares can fall until ordinary fans begin to sell any shares they hold.

have we actually got to the bottom of it yet?

All just rumours so no hard evidence.

What we do know is that in 2018 commercial activities generated 39.6% of celtics sales. However it took a nosedive in 2019 and generated just 26.5% a massive fall of 45%

Rumour is the brand that has become toxic with forecasts for 2020 being even less than 2019.

All rumours but commercial investment regarding their brand may have taken a hit as news breaks regarding the pedophile ring that will soon become public knowledge outside the scope of Scotland.

Look forward to it continuing to fall.

As small investors without any real emotional attachment to the club try to offload any shares before this gets worse, the share price will continue to slide down.

House of cards.

hopefully monday will see it fall again. No matter what this has been a significant fall. Dermot has spoken before his investment is not financial. Not sure others will feel the same. Nick train has seen his investment in Man Utd (I know) and Juventus rise. So considering he topped up his shares at £1.60 in Celtic last year, may think its been a bad investment with news about to break globally regarding their sweeping.

I have seen different percentages but the most common has Nick Train owning 18.4% of the club. And at his last share purchase had invested £28.1m, this has been diluted by over £5m in the past week.

I wonder what he put in and what he’s had out so far

Hope and pray that there is something in this. Any collapse in this entity is more likely to in the shadows as investors and sponsors make cold, hard financial and reputational decisions
