We are being taught a lesson on how to control a media narrative .
Compare our inadequate support for Alfie and the reaction to one of the most one sided poor refereeing display at Parkhead with the their reaction to Griffiths throwing tape at a fan .
They have wheeled out Brown to complain about the pitch and the tackling of the Kilmarnock side.
They wheel out Sutton and Hartson to back up their narrative (they are obviously getting paid ,why do we not do the same to others in the media ?)
We how have the hounding of Boyd meanwhile Griffiths misdemeanours are quietly put to the side.
And we are still waiting for the follow up statement from the weekend nearly a week later

You sound surprised.

I can't remember us ever having a good PR department.

I mean we're losing a PR battle to a club that ran (run?) a peadophile ring for decades

We are not at the races in this respect..... our players, support and brand is being allowed to be attacked daily without any meaningful action....... its bordering on negligence !!!

Been saying it for years. The scum are always pro-active from top to bottom in their relentless campaign of intimidation.

We sadly suffer from apathy from club level to the support.

I remember being on here and urging Rangers to question why there were no representatives from FARE at the Celtic v Linfield anti-British Provo fest.

Posters were quick to tell me that it would be utterly pathetic to even consider it... A couple of years down the line and FARE are manipulating the part closure of our stadium.

It's not just PR and media relations, we have no power politically at any level. We're an easy target and too soft. Those problems are deeply embedded however and it's the neglect from the Murray years when he let everyone shit on us.

We do not have enough friends in the media to support us. When Boyd speaks out, he is but one person and is rounded on. Celtic have former players in prominent media positions plus neutrals who hate Rangers and many journalists/broadcasters on side. They appear to be co-ordinated. They even have a more vocal support politically at national and local level.

Our representatives are people pleasers and when they do speak out, it is usually on their own and they become an easy target.

The problem for us is that they ARE the media, in the main. How many pundits and journalists represent them ? Far too many, and it isn't by chance. Media, politics, you name it. They speak as one, as most corrupted people do.
The fhilth effectively own PR in this country, and will do as long as the media remain as one sided as they are. Can we honestly rely on it to serve us ? or local/national politics ? Publicly funded BBC Scotland ? It's just pissing in the wind as far as Rangers are concerned.

PR helps deliver the message their Stakeholders want. If Rangers as a club does not have a stated position to control the media narrative then PR won't make a difference.

The media is full of their fans and until that changes then it will always be a losing battle.
If everyone stops buying the newspapers or looking at their websites then we will get there a lot quicker.

Bin Level 5 and Traynor now

Hire proper PR bastards like a Hollicom type company who are experts in the PR dark arts

Ban a few of the bastards in mhedia and pundits who we know are on the mentally challengeds payroll

Tell the SFA and SPL in public we are not going to accept the double standards any more

We have a world renowned ex player as our Manager and Stevie G will have excellent contacts in mhedia down South and use his influence to fight back re the way we are treated

We are all sick of the in-house PR regime and we want a more militant and aggressive stance from the board

55 is within touching distance but if we allow the SFA and SPL to ban our key player to help the mentally challengeds then we only have ourselves to blame if we bend over and accept it time after time

Thumb is a perfect example. If he is not banned for throwing an object into the crowd and Gordon confronting an elderly Killie fan with no sanction then we have the perfect example of the double standards we are on the end of

Over to the board to take action and get into the bastards

Our players get lambasted by ex septic player on tv radio and media. Our stance Dignified silence. This hasn’t and will not work !
Rangers please change our stance and support and protect our family

Nail on head, great post.

well said sir. Use Morelos as the benchmark.

The question should always be from now on.

What if Morelos done that?

Not only are we governed to a different standard. The media report us to a different standard.

I bow to Kris Boyd for fighting fire with fire. Something we should have done a long time ago.

Over to you Rangers and Barry STFU, your views are outdated. Impartial as they are, those days have gone.

Decades of complacency and dignified silence from us, decades of perceived victimhood and sleekitness from them.

We lost the PR war before it even began.

I’m torn.

I don’t think our PR is good enough but I don’t know how you win a PR war when we have so few sympathetic media outlets.

The Scottish print media, BBC Scotland, Sky and BT are all considerably more pro-filth.

How do you change that? How did they manage to exert such influence?

We all know the problem. We may have different views on strategy going forward but what about timing. Should any “fightback” start right now? Or could that be an unnecessary distraction. Should we start “sowing the seeds” now with a view to making the most of the position of strength that 55 will bring?

Since King and then Gerard came in, the standards have risen massively in every area. Except this one.

We are woeful in our PR strategy.
It is what it is.

I reckon the best, long term solution, is to win 55 and go as far as we can in the Europa.

Through these successes, on the park, we will be able to grab the headlines which which will at least be a start to highlighting the bias currently spewed out by the mhedia.

However, being able to grab the headlines, through success, will only provide us with a PR opportunity.

To have any lasting effect we require a broad, properly funded, professional PR campaign in many different areas and yes it will cost money.

Before our tradition was always to except defeat with dignity and stay silent putting on a brave face.
Rangers it’s now time declare war in response to the unfair treatment to our club, players and supporters by the disreputable media and other clubs in Scotland

When is the support going to challenge the club on our PR. Heads in the sand for 30 years when it comes to PR.

It's just accepted practice now.

Is there not a famous quote that goes something like "to know who rules over you, simply find out who you can't criticize".

Not they c*nts will ever rule over any of us, but just seems fitting when you look at the way things are reported.

Instead of bleating on here about pr, I would start with a full blown attack on the likes of call it out. As has been proved, they have an agenda which is a direct attack on us and everything we stand for.

All you get on here is slating our own board, when the real culprits are getting away with it. Politicians need to be calling them out, who are masquerading as some equal rights organisation when they are in fact nothing more than terrorist sympathisers, who are playing us all like an irish fiddle.

We need someone with a bit of charisma, dare I say it but like alex salmond who will fight our corner on the political world and then things can fit into place. Right now all that happens is arguments between ourselves which is suiting them down to the ground.

This is all mixed up with politics and has got worse since the opening of that eyesore in Edinburgh.

The media is full of their placemen who are only too happy to put an anti Rangers slant on everything and play down any negativity regarding them.

Whatever success we eventually have won’t be recognised and praised in this country, there will be attempts to demean it and tarnish it from the usual suspects.
When we are successful they will hate us more than ever.
Look at the reaction when we win one game against them, it’s only going to be multiplied if we take the title from them. Never forget they’re bad winners and worse losers.

Exactly. I think we can always do more, but this goes way beyond football in this country.

This all day long. Haven't bought a newspaper in years. Sadly too many of us still buying out of habit and complaining about its rancid content. Your purchase is promoting and funding it ffs.

I’m a former professional in this area and I have repeatedly said that Rangers PR is appalling.
I’m still waiting for the follow up to the statement made about a fortnight ago about the SFA charges.
You cannot say that you’re going to follow up a statement at the end of the weekend .
and then do nothing.
The only thing that does is make sure that your enemies don’t take you seriously.
And if some sort of legal action has been taken to gag you, then you make sure that is leaked through third parties to at least let your audience know that you have been silenced.

I would like for our PR to be better at times but i would not like for us to be delusional like they are so unfortunately i never want us to behave like them. I would like the authorities and media to stand up to their nonsense though

The mentally challengeds have been ramping this up since Gerrard arrived. It's only going to get worse as we approach 55 and people such as Ferguson have to get of the fence and stop trying to be the voice of reason.

Pick a fuckin side.

This so called PR war is nothing of the sort.It is propaganda(Lies) that has been used by failing regimes for ever.
Anyone can see celtic and their apologists are losing their nerve and they know that their so called domination of Scottish football is over.
If anyone thinks it's bad now, wait until we have done the double,it will be carnage and I can't wait.

The cost of this planned negativity towards us must cost the club plenty.A decent PR company must be able to put a financial slant on it maybe then someone would pull the finger out and actually call these bastards out.

your right if there is a p.r war they are winning it solely on shots fired. As much as I prefer we dont get outraged about everything there is times I wish the club would stick up for its self and players and fans more.

The problem for us is they are playing the long game. Whilst we are looking at 55 league titles and rightly so, as we have been starved of success for some time.
They are laying, and continue to lay the groundwork to overtake us as the most successful club in the world.
We are losing badly in every area from media to political and sporting with the SFA and SPFL under their control. They are successfully convincing their fans as well as fans of other clubs that they are the victims, an old socialist trick.
Look at the domestic titles and trophy counts.

Scum-League=50 SC=39 LC=19

The famous Glasgow Rangers-League=54 SC=33 LC=27

This is what it is all about and if we don't find a way to sort it out their cheating refs etc, we could find that someday they will become more successful than us,an unbearable thought.
