Compare and contrast

Just had a wee look at the highlights to see how hard Hearts worked to keep the deficit down to 5. At the first goal Naismith who burst a gut against us is jogging back then walks as Celtc proceed to score. The same for another goal a half hearted (sic) tackle allows them to break free and the guy who Naismith was marking ends up unmarked in the box for a free shot on goal!

As much of a twat as Naismith is, he hates Celtic as much as anyone on here.

Paranoid thread

Paranoia relates to 'irrational' thoughts. The post is an observation of what Naismith did and specifically didn't do. The reason that I looked at Naismith is because I wouldn't know any of the other Hearts players by sight and watched without volume.

It's simple against us he was like the Tasmanian Devil against them the New South Wales Koala Bear!

So much so there was the usual glamour to resign him for Rangers but if you went by the game the other night he wouldn't be wanted by Stafford Rangers!

Double edged sword. Yes we get Aberdeen running through walls versus us then putting the slippers on for them - no question.

But teams aren’t beaten before a balls kicked versus us so they try harder and if we continue to keep teams in games when they should be dead and buried (1-0 b hearts killie etc) they will keep trying 100% - we encourage these teams to play their hearts out by not dictating a high tempo where there are no hiding places. Time wasting at 1-0 up with 30 minutes to go just further emboldens them.

Totally agree - when you get one get two when you get three get four and so on. We should be at their throats from the restart and get the ball back again within 5/6 seconds this sends a big message!

We unfortunately start taking extra touches which allows the opposition to get players behind the ball and McGregor does the 'take the kick from the other side' routine that we hate other keepers doing!

We are the team that other clubs want to beat now. Absolutely believe if you were to go round Scottish clubs and ask fans & players who they'd want to beat most can guarantee that we would top the poll. They all hate us and a game against us is a cup final for them.

The constant demonisation of our club and fans in the media is working. Switching off and not buying the papers might make you feel better but it doesnt stop the hate.

Those in charge of the club have a responsibility to tackle this problem.

Brazil and Tony Casscareno both said that Morelos's goal should have stood but then the fat bloated one as opposed to the guy with a fake Irish granny said that it was Morelos's own fault!!

Soon the only goal Alfredo will be allowed will be a 3 times taken penalty! (The first two were disallowed because Alfredo kicked the ball too hard)

You just have to see their celebrations. Even when they get a draw against us because they know it has screwed our title challenge.

I think part of it is that teams think they have a chance against us whereas they are sometimes beaten before a ball is kicked against them.

I don't think it's intentional and some of it is our making.
We let some diddy teams believe they can get something from us....the scum dont...
You don't think Killie woudhave been just as delighted to take 3 pts off them....of course they would....its 3 pts they don't except.
If Hearts, Aberdeen etc raise their game more against us than against them it's our issue to deal with....

Totally agree with the point in OP. Was saying much the same last night when their highlights were on STV. Hearts looked every inch a team at the bottom of the league. From memory, their 1st goal came from the keeper palming the ball out to the middle of the penalty area , another goal goes straight through the legs of a Hearts player standing on the 6 yard line. Totally Sunday league style defending. The other goals just made the Hearts defence look totally dis functional.
So , as the title suggests, compare and contrast to the tightly packed , highly organised defences we come up against. The unknown players , covered in sweat and snotters getting handed the sponsors champagne and being lauded as the next great Hope only for them to go out the following week and get gubbed. Is it that we are so one dimensional that teams find it easy to set up against us ? Maybe , but how does that explain the difference in pure effort that is put in against us from the effort that seems not to go In against them ?
This demolition of teams by Celtic could be put down to their style of play but in the last 2 games against them, we were the better team by far so how come diddy teams can work out our style but appear lambs to the slaughter against them ? Will Kilmarnock turn their pitch into a glorified 5 a side pitch against them next time they play them ?
I do believe that games are won and lost in the tunnel and until we stop giving these one - day - wonder teams their day we’ll always find this a struggle. Let me just say that , prior to this weekends games , I predict Kilmarnock to lose and Aberdeen to get humped. They’ve had their results against us so their fans will not give a toss either.

no one apart from us seems to give a shit about the filth romping to 4 trebles in a row. I remember when we were winning everything and how ‘bad it was for Scottish football’

When we perfrom how we have after the break no wonder the others up there game. Weve been there for the taking

Nothing to do with trying harder, the other mob go a goal up and its curtains

I think teams expect to get beat off them but feel that they have a chance against us. At the start of the season we had started to change that mindset by winning games 4 or 5 nil but we look vulnerable again at the moment.

It's nothing new in the Scottish game, for a long time we have been the most prestigious sporting institution in the country.
These teams always raise their game against us.
Their fans will accept many defeats as long as even a draw against the Rangers is obtained.
Our mindset is, thankfully, entirely different. The fans of these clubs will always prefer a victory against us than any other teams, including local rivals.
Hibs fans prefer a victory against us rather than Hearts.
Motherwell fans prefer a victory against us rather than Airdrie.
Kilmarnock fans prefer a victory against us rather than Ayr Utd.
Dundee United fans prefer a victory against us rather than Dundee.
And it's no different with the like of St Mirren, they would rather beat us than Morton.
Even incompetence and lack of effort is acceptable to these clubs punters for a long stretch of games because they talk and think about their last victory against us for years to come.
For example, look at the results Aberdeen have had against the sellik since McInnes has been manager and he is still in the job.
If he had the same results against us, he would have been punted a long time ago.
Every one at our club should be aware of this and be prepared for it.
It's no secret.

We are passive playing against other teams in the spl, they are aggressive. We invite teams on to us.

The reality is that teams know that the yellow and red cards are flashed in a heartbeat against Celtc for any sign of aggression, but they can take liberties with us, which they often do.

Its psychological. Teams are now conditioned such that they don't expect to beat them and that's what happens. Teams think they might beat us and then they can pat each other on the back for a week, and guess what happens?

Even if every Hearts player had the game of his life against us no way should we even be dropping a single point to an utterly garbage team like them. They are the punchbag of the SPFL at the minute 11 goals against in the last 3 games says it all.

They recently appointed a manager who admitted to not even knowing who they were before being contacted about the job.
