Totally agree with the point in OP. Was saying much the same last night when their highlights were on STV. Hearts looked every inch a team at the bottom of the league. From memory, their 1st goal came from the keeper palming the ball out to the middle of the penalty area , another goal goes straight through the legs of a Hearts player standing on the 6 yard line. Totally Sunday league style defending. The other goals just made the Hearts defence look totally dis functional.
So , as the title suggests, compare and contrast to the tightly packed , highly organised defences we come up against. The unknown players , covered in sweat and snotters getting handed the sponsors champagne and being lauded as the next great Hope only for them to go out the following week and get gubbed. Is it that we are so one dimensional that teams find it easy to set up against us ? Maybe , but how does that explain the difference in pure effort that is put in against us from the effort that seems not to go In against them ?
This demolition of teams by Celtic could be put down to their style of play but in the last 2 games against them, we were the better team by far so how come diddy teams can work out our style but appear lambs to the slaughter against them ? Will Kilmarnock turn their pitch into a glorified 5 a side pitch against them next time they play them ?
I do believe that games are won and lost in the tunnel and until we stop giving these one - day - wonder teams their day we’ll always find this a struggle. Let me just say that , prior to this weekends games , I predict Kilmarnock to lose and Aberdeen to get humped. They’ve had their results against us so their fans will not give a toss either.
