Rangers' defeat left me so raging I aimed flip flop at my new telly but where was the players' anger? - Barry Ferguson

They should do... barca are fantastic at it, soon as any player is fouled players automatically put pressure, the vermin across the city have been doing it for years... time our players, David Weir used to be great at it, every time he was straight to the ref, didn't always have to be angry about it his presence on the ref was enough. We lack that presence from a single player now so probably need a few bodies to add the pressure, as long as they aren't hounding the ref and just keeping in his ear the full game, they won't face punishment for it either.

That's exactly my thinking mate and we should be doing that.

A lot of people claim that players doing this are claiming the foul... it’s not that - they are claiming the next one, and the one after that. It’s contrary to the spirit of the game and shows little respect for the referee’s neutrality but until players are systematically punished for it then it seems like the only way to combat it is to join in.

Flip flops in February!
Never really took to Barry and get the feeling he is putting this piece out for his own columns perspective.
However, Ian Ferguson, Souness,Brown, Gough etc wouldn't have tolerated a 2nd half display like that.

Our players are too soft, bar probably McGregor... but he's a bit of a loose cannon at times with, it should be coming from Tav, Davis, Jack, Arfield, the core of the team should be leading and trying to gain every advantage possible at all times.

Again where we have gone wrong IMO, is that Gerrard has gone out of his way to sign a particular type of player who, for the most part, were decent technically, skillful, but not with a strong physical presence. Unfortunately, the SPL- where they are required to ply their trade - is a league in which physicality, takes precedence over skill and technique.

Take Man City, under Guardiola for eg., they were purposefully comprised of highly skilled players, who despite their lack of physical stature, often dominated their bigger, more physically powerful opponents precisely because they were so technically superior. Rangers, unfortunately, are not so blessed. Whilst they can play some nice football if allowed, other Scottish teams have twigged on that if they set up defensively with a view to frustrate Rangers, get in their face, bully them, more often than not it works. The truth, we have discovered, is that the Rangers players don't like to mix it up. They don't seem to have the stomach for the fight. When things are going well, it's fine, but when they have to scrap and claw their way to a victory more often than not they come up short. This is the conundrum that Gerrard has to solve.

We lack a real leader who will just say right lads sit in hit on break no mistakes we win

We know when we are in a right bad slump questioning the future success of both short and Medi term, when Barry Ferguson is correct
