Charlie Nicholas says Rangers won't get any credit if they concede title to Celtic

Charlie Nicholas has weighed in on John Hartson’s argument that Rangers should concede the title to Celtic – claiming that Gers fans would be seething if the Ibrox club called time on their Premiership challenge.

The Hoops are currently 13 points ahead of Steven Gerrard's team, who have a game in hand, with eight matches left to play as Scottish football remains postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

There have been doubts cast over whether or not it will be possible to complete the 2019/20 campaign and Hartson suggested that if clubs are unable to fulfil their remaining fixtures, then the Light Blues should consider conceding the title to their rivals.

And Nicholas, in his Daily Express column, has claimed the only credit the Light Blues would receive would be from Hartson himself.
He wrote: "John Hartson said that if Rangers concede the title to Celtic they would come away with a lot of credit. But from who? Hartson? There is no chance of Rangers getting any credit from anywhere.
"Their own fans would be up in arms for a start. Rangers can't concede the title and why should they? As I have said all along Celtic need to win it for themselves. Hopefully we will get back playing and everything will be decided on the pitch as it should be."

Whether our board “fight” against the tims being made champions without all games being played is anyone’s guess!

Our MD assured us “we wouldn’t be found wanting in this situation.......” so we’ve got nothing to worry about! Nothing at all! :rolleyes:
 
It's not up to any one club to "concede the title".

It's not like a game of snooker or darts or a boxing match where it's one against one and one of the opponents can concede the competition.

The SPFL will decide what is happening and I remain of the opinion they have to go the same way as the big leagues across Europe.

looks like charlie is a bit bitter towards them for some reason , maybe it’s cause of how they’ve handled a certain other scandal.

He's right. They'd laugh at us for being mugs. Same applies to helping out other clubs, sad but true.
 
A bit of clear thinking from Charlie, he knows what the Bears will do if the Board gave up on this issue, they would lose a lot of goodwill and bring a lot of pressure down on their heads.

Generally don't buy a paper these days but when I do it is the Express. Always found that, while it's obvious where his loyalties lie, Nicholas attempts to be reasonably fair. He is, however, thick as pig sh1t but nowhere near as bitter as guys like Boyd or as needy as Sutton for attention.
 
The only guy with a mhank background that is talking any sense and not rolling out the PR campaign we've seen from all their other lapdogs.

He is undoubtedly one of them, but he has not be brushed with their propaganda machine like Hartson and co. And his comments are generally fair and balanced.... no laughing at the back!

He knows unless the games are played out, the "title" will always have a doubt next to it. He knows what he's doing, if we were closer, there's no way he'd want the games played, he'd want the same as Hartson.
 
Sad indictment of Hartson's mentality when Nicholas shows more rationale.
Hartson's hatred controls him.
 
You always think Sutton is a complete and utter cock socket until Hartson opens his fat mouth. Then you realise that Sutton still is a cock socket, but Hartson is a far bigger one.

It's a particular low for the fat gingy walloper when Charlie Nicholas is calling you out!
 
Sutton and Hartson were educated in the "Sellick ways" by MON and TLRB and were part of the team that blew it on Helicopter Sunday - those two were responsible for ramping up the hatred in Scottish football and they and, indeed, the team that played in their image will never recover from that day.
 
Difference probably is Hartson is getting paid by them and so any opinion is bias towards his employers and Nicholas is not so can give his honest opinion.
