They sacked a manager after winning the title, did they not?Was just reading about him when he managed Real Madrid. They sacked him when he had a 7 point gap at the top of the table and were in the UEFA cup after 19 league matches. Was something to do with the new sporting director, they went on to lose the league on the last day to Barca and go out the UEFA cup in the semi to Torino. Strange to sack him, as they were a mess when he took over and would have probably won them the title.

They sacked a manager for winning the CL but not the title in the late 90s and told him before the CL final that regardless if they win it he’s getting sacked, so probably! They sacked a manager after winning the title, did they not?
They also sacked Fabio Capello twice. In each of the two seasons he was in charge they won La Liga! They sacked a manager for winning the CL but not the title in the late 90s and told him before the CL final that regardless if they win it he’s getting sacked, so probably!
Edit: just looked into that too. The never renewed Del Bosque’s contract the day after he won them the title in 2003! Del Bosque is probably the greatest manager of all time and they bumped him after wining the title!

Former manager of Real Madrid,Atletico Madrid and Barcelona has died aged 71.
Probably better known for this goal though
That's how I'll always remember him.His greatest achievement was winning the Spanich league and cup double with Atletico Madrid in 1996, a season after they escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth. The Atleti fans in particular will be mourning him..
