Hearts Statement.

This is it. So the SPFL will fudge it so that it takes Hearts out of the issue and we’ll be last club standing. You can spot it from a mile off.
Basically says they won't vote for the SPFL deal but would if league reconstruction would secure their own place in the top division.

actually i can see this going 2 ways

Hearts want a league reconstruction ideally, however they explicitly say they are backing Rangers

our resolution of paying out money could have some success (outcome 1) and the league could also be reconstructed (outcome 2)

do those 2 seperate outcomes mean that celtic are crowned champions? maybe yes, maybe no (imo) - awarding titles is where things can be legally challenged surely

it's
The Hootsman:

There really was something hapless about the SPFL board’s move to buy off clubs that presently find themselves in a parlous financial position in order to terminate immediately the Championship, League One and League Two.

However they might choose to dress it up, that is precisely what they sought to do. If 75 per cent of the 42 senior sides vote through a resolution that would instantly award titles and promotion to Dundee United, Raith Rovers and Cove Rangers, relegate Partick Thistle and Stranraer and cancel the play-offs then, and only then, will prize money flow into fast-emptying coffers. As transparent as a freshly buffed window, unlike such a pane, it did not stand up to close inspection. More pathetic still was the sop that if those in charge of the clubs were good boys and girls and voted as instructed, then the old perennial of league reconstruction, in time for season 2020-21, could come under discussion. They know, as we all do, that there isn’t a hope on earth of the necessary support being obtained to expand the upper tiers in time for next season. The only means to spare clubs of relegation under the current proposal.

Rangers and Thistle immediately saw through it, and admirably called it out for being the rushed, ill-considered plan it undoubtedly is, one that attempted to lay out the groundwork for the Premiership being concluded in the selfsame fashion further down the line.
it's very clear that this vote has been rushed through as early as the last 24 hrs in order to scare clubs, in my eyes it doesn't look like this had been mooted before today and such a vote wasn't expected so soon, which begs the question, why the rush for this week from SPFL?

It would be a slap in the face for Petrie, seeing his old team go against him. Let's face it,. he'll be for the beggars being handed the title
i'm not so sure, they fell out over the mcginn deal, which embarrassed Lawwell considerably

They hint at this being rushed to the table when they say they wrote their letter back in March.

It almost feels like they have been holding off as long as they could and at the same time pushing some clubs to the brink. These clubs have no other option than to vote for the solution that will result in them being paid quickest.

As precedents start to form elsewhere, they are now rushing to get this through before they are shamed.

Backing themselves, they wouldn’t be doing it otherwise
ah, another one.. i'll just copy and paste what i said to someone else

must have missed this sentence then mate

There are other ways of addressing the current financial challenges and as such we will be supporting the Members Resolution being put forward by Rangers.

They hint at this being rushed to the table when they mention writing their letter back in March.

Almost feels like they have been holding off as long as they could in order to take some clubs to the brink. These clubs then vote for anything in order for them to get the money that will let them survive.

As precedents start to form elsewhere, they are rushing to get this through
yep, looks as if it's a total surprise to all clubs, thus sprung upon them last minute. Rangers should offer secured loans to clubs who are struggling while the SPFL dither :))

They will not vote for it “as it stands” being the key bit here.

Partick Thistle have said similar.

All of their worries go away if league restructuring is on the table, which the SPFL have already said they are willing to discuss.

This 75% vote is not an accident. The Scum and Doncaster will have done plenty of canvassing during the last few weeks to make sure they carry the day.

Putin could take lessons from them.

It’s clear that they are, yet again, trying to blackmail clubs to determine titles in boardrooms instead of football pitches.

Today it’s if you want your money, vote this through. In 2012 it was if you want your membership transferred then give up your titles.

Fucking criminal!

Lot of horse trading going to be going on and I wouldn't bank on anything being set in stone from Hearts or the sheep, folk must have short memories if they think otherwise

I think Hearts are backing Hearts,

Of course they are.

They have said officially that they will be voting for our resolution and it will be interesting to see how they react when they are faced with voting for cash now or the reconstruction carve up that hands the Scum the title.

Basically says they won't vote for the SPFL deal but would if league reconstruction would secure their own place in the top division.

The bribe part is disgusting. Vote to pass this and they will release the funds. Vote no and you don't get funds. Bloody disgusting from the spfl. As Budge says, no to vote on anything, just give the clubs the money.

The way they turned their remit over the last 19 days I can’t see how they won’t vote with us or it will make them look even more stupid as they’re already looking with the backtracking
If they are kept in the spfl then they won,t vote for us .They,'re only interest is self interest.

Raith Rovers chairman Bill Clark believes the lower league clubs will vote against ending the season early.

Clark was part of a video conference call on Wednesday afternoon involving the SPFL, the Scottish FA and all ten League One clubs.

Top of the agenda was the league body’s proposal to end the Championship, League One and League Two campaigns based on points accrued per game, which would see Rovers progress as champions of the third tier.

A total of 15 clubs from League One and Two would need to vote in favour of the resolution for it to be passed but from gauging opinion from his peers, Clark insists that is unlikely.

Clark said: “I think it will be a very close call, my gut feeling is that it probably won’t get over the line.

“As you would expect there was very mixed opinions about it, there is no doubt a number of clubs will oppose it

“Clubs who are going to miss out or be relegated are going to oppose, and clubs who are maybe in the play-off position, and even clubs below that, have indicated that they won’t vote for it.”

Clark even insists the financial incentive of clubs being paid prize money based on league positions would not be enough to alter certain opinions.

He added: “We did discuss the cash and so on and a number of clubs indicated that they weren’t too bothered about it, either because it was such a small amount if you’re down at the bottom of the league, and there were other clubs arguing that they did not need the money right away.

“There was a mixed reception in terms of the money being paid out although it leaves the clubs with financial difficulties in a very difficult position.”

Naturally, Clark insists his own team would be voting in favour of the proposal, with Raith a point clear of Falkirk at the summit with eight games left.

He added: “We’re top of the league and put a whole lot of effort into this season.

“The SPFL have produced the figures for points won and we’ve been top of the league for 21 out of 28 weeks.

“If we’re going to be denied being named as champions of League One I would be extremely disappointed.”

It was emphasised today that some clubs, particularly those in the lower Leagues, need funds to be released to help them navigate their way through this exceptional situation. I do not accept however, that this resolution needs to be passed in order to release those funds.

Something that no journalist seems to have asked.

Why the %^*& do we need to hand the mentally challengeds a title in order to dish out the prize money.
Honestly don,t think we do mate .but the spfl are making out this is they way to do it .So Celtic can be awarded their title.
