I'm a graphic designer, I know when images are edited and these definitely are. @Empire has stated the messages are legit, I'm assuming these were patched together by the source of the screenshots to remain anonymous.

I'm no forensic scientist, but these are definitely badly Photoshopped images – if the messages are real they've been cut together by someone.

1. All the text and messages are misaligned which doesn't happen in the app
2. Rounded corners aren't rounded because the box image has been stretched to fit the message
3. Names are more pixelated than the text because they've been copy/pasted
4. Emoji's aren't official Whatsapp ones (unless this very per phone – certainly aren't the iPhone Whatsapp emojis)

(the messages might be real but the screenshots definitely are not. Possible that the person leaking didn't want to give away who they are so have pieced it together/photoshopped it to cover their tracks)

If I remember correctly did Scot Gardiner not say in his interview, that the secretary of Dundee made a jokey reply to something of a personal nature on the Watsapp Group Chat and he was not going to repeat it.
