The @ScottishFA chief exec Ian Maxwell tells @BBCSportsound that it’s “ likely we’ll have football in August “ (Premiership football , at least). My information for @JamTarts fans & the rest of the 2nd tier is that the Championship would start 6 weeks after the Prem (Oct ish)

And the Championship clubs hope to be able to guarantee an 18 game season , beginning around October, with the possibility of an extra round of fixtures depending on the progress in society overall in the battle to beat #COVID19

Just listening to him. What does he bring to the game? Whats his pedigree? seems clueless. All if and maybees, Only thing he stated definitely is there will be a Scottish cup for 2019/20 no matter when it happens. As revenue is massive to clubs involved. BBC never asked him about the biggest question in every other persons mind, why are you not demanding the SPFL release club 42 for the other competition that the SFA runs. Looks like he knows more than most about Crona machines giving results in 1 hour for football. He needs to inform Boris.

He presided over the destruction of a Partick Thistle ( even with the financial support of the biggest €uromillions winner ).

Next thing - running Scottish football.

He’s there to do what pig eyes tells him to do, his first job; ‘sort’ the sex abuse inquiry.

He brings compliance to Lawwell and serves as tame Bluenose to give the appearance of balance.

Now BBC saying championship will start in September to help Hearts lol.

MICKEY MOUSE INDEED

Now Ayr chairman says he knows nothing what Maxwell was talking about lol

That's not how I was understanding the latest.

Championship clubs were steeling themselves for a start in January with an 18 game season.

It sounds as if Hearts don't have the numbers for reconstruction to me and an 18 game season is no use to Hearts. I thought it was being suggested the Championship clubs are now sympathetic to Hearts plight and are now considering doing a full fixture league (but with a minimum 18) starting six weeks after the Premier League (playing costs perhaps being incurred over a shorter period).

Ayr chairman saying he is extending players contracts temporary even if they have no interest in keeping them so the government keep paying their wages.

The very thing that Ross County will not do as they say it is dishonest if they do not intend to keep the players.

Stewart banging on about another big TV deal being the answer to get money to pass down to the lower leagues.

Fair play to Tom English saying the SPFL can't even manage to get a sponsor how are they going to get another top-up TV deal - predictably cut off by Dick Gordon as he was going to say more.

The more you hear the more it highlights the complete lack of leadership at the SPFL and SFA.

It really needs the 'best in class' that John Bennett spoke about and it is nowhere to be seen.

These teams wont survive on half the revenue they normally get, your talking half the TV money as well presumably and half the sponsorship money.
Scottish Fitba has massive problems.

Ah flexi-season will it be then, 18 games but maybe more if not we can call it whenever and decide who finishes where.

Any explanation as to why the championship is only going to be 18 games? Surely if the SPFL is back and playing a full season then why cant the championship?

We also reserve the right to extend/end early the Premiership in accordance with the positioning of our master Peter’s club.

It does seem completely rubbish. If the clubs rely heavily on attendance as their main source of revenue, unless they're going to unveil a new TV deal to cover behind closed doors games, then they will lose money for every game that takes place before January.

The terms and conditions of the league season should be in place before a ball is kicked. The tinpot aspect of Scottish Football continues to increase.

If the Championship is to be only 18 games and Leagues 1and 2 may not start until January, there was even less of a reason to curtail the current season. I don't believe for a minute that these scenarios have only just come to light. This just gets worse!!

That was his Snp business brain failing to realise many companies will be finding it tight and there will knock on effects from reduced advertising spend. To be fair to him he started getting animated around why there was such a rush to finish the league when nothing is starting soon. Richard Gordon just didn’t want to open the can of worms

Rangers submit our resignation & piss off out of this set up it's run by absolute idiots, this is just getting embarrassing, they bend the rules to give the filth a title & now making thing's up so Hearts don't take them to court , God sake a blind man can see what's happening here, are we not going to say or do something to stop this farce , we are part of the membership & it's not showing a good light on anybody , do something.
