Retro Kit

Would be nice, but would the sponsors be happy about one of our most watched games of the year without their name on our shirt?
Possibly, I imagine we will have came to some form of financial agreement. I could be wrong but that’s just what came to mind.

Can’t see any way the sponsors would agree to us wearing this in an OF game. I also think your kit for League games has to be registered at the start of the season, so don’t think we will see it in ANY League match.

Scottish Cup much more likely, since we’ve seen new strips introduced in Cup Finals in the past so no registration issues there. Maybe League Cup if the registration for that isn’t the same as the League.

Its alright, nothing special
The Umbro Tennents top was a true retro top even the material had an old school feel to it

What year is it based on? as looking on retro strip sites its only resemblance to an old strip is big badge and no sponsor
The necks not the same

Maybe I got out of bed the wrong side this morning lol

Not sure if they couldn’t do this for legal reasons, but if this is meant to be retro, they should’ve got the RFC correct. It isn’t.
Retro isn't replica.

The OP mailed the script to say the kits are 'inspired' by some iconic kits of the past.

Nice top - I wonder if the collar can be tucked under to show a v-neck

Not only that, you didn’t take the time to read the OP for the explanation of which - various - strips provided the inspiration for this one.

Have a coffee and a re-read Mr Grumpy.;):)

Personally I'm not a fan of the collar, a simple white V or a crew neck would have been my choice. I wonder what shirts they've based this on, given the description.

The outfield shirt features a traditional collar which is reminiscent of the styles worn by some of the club’s earliest heroes such as David Meiklejohn and Alan Morton plus more recent Rangers Hall of Fame inductees such as Davie Cooper and Derek Parlane.

Any idea if the advice is to get the next size up again? I ended up having to get the size up for the home top.

Can't blinking see them, i,m on an mod computer they won't let me see certain sites.
Added to that the phone signal is woeful here.

Was just about to post this . I’d like to know what’s retro about it , I’ve looked back and cannot find a single kit we have ever had with that collar . We have had white v neck, white collar , but I cannot seem to find a white v neck and white collar combined .

Im all for the club making money but the amount of different kit/training gear launched this season has me really confused and is the antithesis of the “ quality not quantity “ image we heard from the brothers at the announcement of the deal .

Each to their own but this top definitley isn’t for me , I’d like to know if a more knowledgable bear than me can find exactly what top this” retro” kit is based on because I cannot find that collar anywhere. Also looks like they are still wearing the normal home shorts with it, you would think plain white shorts would be far superior as a small criticism .

One thing we can all agree on is the badge looks 100 times superior without the stars - hopefully this will become a permanent move .

Don’t quote me on this but the collar resembles what we wore from the mid 20s, when Mr Meiklejohn was playing.

It's inspired by the old shirts, not a copy.

The collar design is different from any previous jerseys, but it's not meant to be an exact copy.

My avatar shows the 1920s collar.

Fair enough , I did wonder .

I’m all for the old retro kit idea but it would be much better if it was launched as one of the three main kits at the start of the season for me . It just seems a bit chaotic and reactionary launching kits Willy nilly , but maybe I’m a traditionalist . I think Castore need to calm down and produce three nice Rangers kits for next season maybe incorporating a 150th retro as our third kit . And permanently leave the stars off in an ideal world .

Looks decent, but I think in the current environment, this feels like an obvious and poorly timed cash grab. Lots of folk have been furloughed or made redundant, with more to come and we bring out a fourth strip?

Absolutely love it. Great job by Rangers and Castore on the design and doing a surprise launch especially after the leaks for the main roster of kits.

Hopefully goes some way in restoring some trust in the Castore relationship.

Wonder how the kits look with names and numbers on the back

I think I know what I’ll be using my 20% off on first :D

I hope this is a step towards shelving the crest with the stars and putting them elsewhere on the shirts.

I love the subtle look in these tops. Will definitely be purchasing one when they are released.

Is it actually a "strip"? I thought it was just a retro shirt to be sold in the Castore/Rangers shop along with other merchandise people can buy if they so desire

We’ll get back in and get out the right side then ;)
