1952 - Rangers announced the installation of floodlighting had been completed at Ibrox, paving the way for trials to begin with night time matches. The club went on to arrange a series of matches to test the new lighting. The official launch of the lights came on December 8th 1953 when Arsenal sent a team north and recorded a 2-1 win

1961 - Rangers 1 ASK Vorwaerts 0 - European Champions' Cup 2nd Round 2nd Leg (Match Abandoned At H/T Due To Weather Conditions) (Played in Malmo,Sweden) (3,012)
Rangers had already won the first leg in Berlin 2-1 and thus started the game as favourites, but they would have to do so without the famous Ibrox roar behind them; the Cold War was such that clubs from behind the Iron Curtain were not given entry visa's into NATO countries and Rangers had to play in Malmo in Sweden. A crowd of just over 3,000 had seen Willie Henderson give Rangers the lead when the game was abandoned at half-time due to fog.

1995 - Rangers 1 (Gascoigne) Steaua Bucharest 1 - European Champions League Group C (30,800)
The undoubted highlight of the game was a wonder goal from Paul Gascoigne, running 50 yards through the Steaua defence, but with Rangers gaining no more than a point and Juventus surprisingly slipping up against Borussia Dortmund,it meant Rangers' involvement in the competition was effectively over.
