I have it on good authority that we did indeed help on the clean up.Council already have said it was them and them alone who cleaned it. The lads posting it on twitter saying it was fans were just having a laugh
Lana wolf is the top donatorLooks like there already is a gofundme for this.

Hi everybody my name is john and i am from glasgow. the reason for this fundr… John White needs your support for Repairs to the George square memorial bencheswww.gofundme.com
@Robert Marshall
Will be turned around to "guilty by admission". But who cares what they think, we do it anyway, well done Robert MarshallUnfortunate as it was that some benches got damaged we are doing the right thing here by repairing them and another charity will get it's coffers boosted by a considerable sum to moot.I wonder how we will get portrayed by this?
Nearly £10k of you combine all 3 efforts . Surely that’s enough for three benchesDonated. Over £3000 raised so far
If they had been properly maintained they wouldn't have brokenI loved seeing the celebrations but wrecking memorial benches is poor.
It was probably her big diddies that caused them to break.Lana wolf is the top donator
I highly doubt it was deliberate
Pay directly, do not trust GCC’s involvement on thisWe are not sure about the damage but I'm quite sure these benches will be quite expensive
Needs to be the best quality wood to survive the weather
Invoice will be posted when we get them done
Are you going through the council for the purchase of replacement benches? No one is suggesting that we will need to find out how many
But I will put everything out for public viewing
I would rather have my own contacts make them but from what I understand it may be the Council need to have them made for insurance purposesAre you going through the council for the purchase of replacement benches?
I only ask as they will have standard required.
That was the point of my question.I would rather have my own contacts make them but from what I understand it may be the Council need to have them made for insurance purposes
You derailed the thread by bringing it up in the first place.I’m not detailing the thread by arguing this. I stand by what I say. Regardless of the circumstances it hurt grieving families. Stop mitigating it. There would have been absolute outrage on here if it had been the scum.
There's a fine line between something being a permanent memorial and it also being a bench. On this occasion someone foolishly jumped on a bench, which a long way off from desecrating a memorial on purpose.Chill, it wasn't deliberate. Just punters getting a wee bit carried away.
That would be a good idea. Well done. A great effort and will help us get the point across that this was accidental and not malicious.@Robert Marshall I’ve seen another page set up by John whyte that has already raised £1800 perhaps time to combine efforts
I wonder if that arse Swinney will be as quick to point that out. It’s now up on the times Rangers fans paying to fix the benches.
And what about the bears fighting with our own last night poet behaviourThere’s two currently, one from the Louden and one elsehwere by Ross Sneddon.
Good to see you organise this @Robert Marshall
Just to mention, the newly planted flower beds were also flattened. Easier to replace than the benches, but also someone's hard work and will cost to replace.
What are you trying to achieve with this post? And what about the bears fighting with our own last night poet behaviour
Repairing benches and you drop this comment. And what about the bears fighting with our own last night poet behaviour
I will do whatever is required to sort this,That was the point of my question.
They will have a standard required.
They will also know the details of any memorial plaque required.
To be honest I will concentrate on what The Rangers fans doGreat show of respect by the real best fans in the world ...WATP
On another note who paid for the removal etc..of the spray paint damage to the statues done by the mentally challengeds and the blm protesters which the press seemed to have missed.
