Glasgow City Council tweet

GCC just put up a disgusting post about us on their Facebook and a few bits of litter left yesterday. Not a mention of the fact most of the council cleaners and refuse workers are good bears or the money we've raised. No matter where you look this country is infested and its vile.
not sure that is true but anyway, lets hope we get some good press on the mainstream media for the money raised.

Good.

GCC would have paid for a party in George Square if the Peasants had won 10 in a row. Litter would not have been a problem.
It was those Ibrox pigeons again. First they tried to get our games stopped, now they're creating a mess at George Square. They can't be stopped.

It certainly wasn't an issue when they left the CC in some state after celebrating the tainted treble treble.

No one likes us, we don't care!

Had to log out of facebook looking at all the comments from the poets. Absolutely choking to rip them a new arsehole and wind them up but went for the sensible approach and let them have a cry :shh:

It's good to see them all climb out the woodwork and nail their colours to the mast, complain and moan and cry all you want scum, we are the champions and nothing on heaven or earth would have stopped fans celebrating it.

If you had made the same gestures towards the Black Lives Matters marches or the disgraceful scenes at sharkhead a few weeks ago when not only was social distancing out the window but attacking the Police was fair game then maybe your message would be treated a bit more seriously...as such all it does it make you look like a bunch of bitter, entitled, jealous ar$eholes.

Tbf the police and council could have handeled the weekend far worse than they did

Stuff on social media will just be a hurting celtic fan who works as the admin

That's what I thought from where I was watching. Imagine if the police had tried to be heavy handed the press would have been alot worse today.
Actually thought the police showed common sense for once and that's clearly something these councilors lack.

We’ve had cleansing and parks teams in George Square since Sunday night, clearing debris and assessing the damage to furniture and plants.

The lack of care and respect shown to a place and facilities that all Glaswegians should be able to enjoy is disturbing – but destroying memorials placed by grieving families and friends is, frankly, deplorable.

We believe we have been able to recover any memorial plaques from smashed benches and are now starting the job of contacting families, where we are able. The memorials will be restored; however it is not yet known how much this will cost.

Please see details of those memorials below. If anyone is able to locate the families or provide details, please get in touch with us through private message at our
Glasgow City Council Help
page.

Is this 5 benches or 5 plaques on a couple of benches?

Thought the police showed a lot of common sense thb....and not one inflatable shark anywhere

The pettiness of that post is hilarious, “assess the damage to plants”. So I take it the BLM and independence rallies managed not to stand on any plants?

They will now find a family of one of the benches or plaques to be all over social media saying how disrespected they feel. The damage would have been accidental and memorials in a public place will always have a chance of being damaged either through the natural elements or if the public area is used for large gatherings
