This guy will massively underestimate the practical side of Scottish football and be out by Christmas.

They'll get horsed out of Europe in the 2nd round CL qualifiers and if they play the way Angie supposedly want's to set them up we should be ahead by a few points before the first game against them. Then the sharks will be out and Declan will be off to the car park!

The shettlestons are trying very hard to engineer their enthusiasm at this appointment.

Quite underwhelming for the scum, his close season administration will tell the tale.

Anyone read Martin Watt's BBC article? B-D

"Prior to the pandemic, Manchester City came out to play Marinos and, after the game, Guardiola came up to him privately and said: 'You play the kind of football I dream of playing."

Did he? Aye?

"With all due respect, all Eddie Howe has done is win one Championship title in England. Here we're talking about a coach who won back-to-back A-League titles a decade ago, including a 36-match undefeated stint - the longest in any sport in Australia."

"Postecoglou's side were dubbed 'Roarcelona' - a nod to Pep Guardiola's Barca - as their style revolutionised the domestic game and brought silverware."

What I think has disaster written all over this because any defeat or shock result the players will slowly lose faith as he’s a nobody in European football and fans knifes will be out he has a very short rope it’s not like us with Gerrard he came in as a legendary player that demanded respect like a monk which in turn bought him more time, from the off this guy is on a hiding to nothing what respectable player will sign on buzzing to play for this guy?

Thats the weirdo that was on a podcast saying he's in the top 5-10 coaches in world football. lol

In other words, the guys off his meds.

Even before you get to the obvious lie, Man City didn't 'come out to play Marinos'. They came out for the promotion of the City brand in Japan, and to help with this, had to play a friendly or three against local cloggers, one was happened to be Marinos. The number of straws getting grasped is incredible here.

When we confirmed our invincible season with a 100% home record the BBC made a special graphic with a few records that we had broken/matched and a strange note that we were "The first team to have a 100% home record since O'Neill's team".

Which never happened.

Wibble never had a 100% home record. I remember a maybe a couple of times they were close, but we put an end to it.

So if they're willing to lie with actual, verifiable information that takes maybe a minute to google, then it should be no surprise to anyone that they'd go wild with unverifiable nonsense to embellish the record of some diddy that's signed for their team.

This guy could be a success but it all depends on what players he gets and how much time he’s given, we need to look after ourselves and get next season right.

Football is a strange sport at times-it can throw up unexpected results and it can see the written off become heroes.

That's one side of it. The other side of things is that any appointment to a top level job really needs to be the best candidate available....that's not this guy and that's their main problem. A club who has lost the support and faith in where they are heading needed a strong appointment to re-engage with them and get them putting their hands in their pockets. This is about as far away from that as you can get.

Stevie G was a big gamble but it was different from a Pedro style appointment which this guy echoes....a given style in a foreign league-a different world from the Scottish league. Stevie G also absolutely had the charisma, steel and leadership qualities to maximise his squad's desire to deliver for him. This guy will need to win over his squad and you can't seriously suggest that the more established players are either excited or fearful at the arrival of this guy. They'll be thinking %^*& I thought we were a big club.

Celtic have had in my opinion the biggest setback in their history and as such the way in what things have fallen apart the biggest distance between those running the show and the fans since before McCann took over. Appointing this guy in those circumstances means you won't find a word in the English language to describe the level of risk involved.

It would appear a big selling point on this guy is the cliche he likes to play attacking football, someone surely should note that attacking football wasn't their problem last season.

I think most of us are on the same page that we saw our greatest victory this season in our history and we've seen our biggest rivals spiral through disasters that are beyond parody. It's like a dream come true.

Finally to go back to the start IF this guy delivers success it's not been planned, it won't be genius insight or anything like it. This is the equivalent of a player running to hit a crucial penalty and just shuts his eyes and blooters it....if it goes in it's just the random chance you take when your best effort is to hope it turns out ok because you need to do something.

They are grasping at straws 100%.

That would also be true if I got the job. The point is you appoint someone to maximise your ability to do these things....does that guy do this?

Despite who is in charge at the Piggery this season, the likely outcome is that they will still beat the rest of the League apart from us. Psychology and momentum plays a massive role in sport, especially football. If the Aussie Pep gets off to a flier, the Scottish media will be delirious.

No fears there with Steven at the helm.
They won't be bursting the bank to hand no mark newcomer Angie squillions and they have a massive rebuild to undertake.
We are simply miles ahead of them and Steven will not be letting any standards drop and indeed will be improving on last season.

Agree. He’ll do fine domestically and likely similar to last season.

We’ll be a different level to anything he has experienced in his managerial career. We’ll see what kind of coach he is then. Likewise in Europe.

Hilarious, he's actually quoted that nutter who appeared on Celtic Fans TV and described Ange as one of the top 5-10 managers in the world.
