During commentary he was taken aback at how the Rangers fans were groaning when something didn't go right even at 1-0 up and playing clever football.
Kevin Thomson laughingly replied something along the lines "Aye Rangers fans are a demanding support Clive".
It genuinely was something that Clive in his 20 odd years of commentating on football matches had never witnessed before, he couldn't understand it.

Our fans are demanding, of course we are, 'shirt too heavy for some' and all that, that's why we are the World's Most Successful Club Clive. B-D

Tbh I thought it made whoever was groaning sound like spoilt kids today mate .

Not a complement to the fans even though generally we continued to support those little mumps etc were bullshit imo

I honestly can't take to the guy.

He had no idea why there was applause on the 24th minute, and apologised for it at half time (or more specifically said he wasn’t made aware).
He appreciated what he thought was applause for Jon Lundstram when gaining possession of the ball at that point, not his fault if he wasn't advised prior what the applause really was for.

There's demanding and then there's getting on the players backs and hindering them. It can be either at Ibrox tbh.

I thought some of his commentary today was a bit shall we say non partisan
I think he should take off his neutral head and be a bit more partisan if you like and remember its Rangers tv he's commenting for

No it's not. If the team doesn't go for the throat they get hammered.

It's always been like that, nothing wrong with it. If a player doesn't produce he gets slaughtered. Happened to every great player who wore the jersey. Ask McCoist the player, what harm it did it do him? No harm.

We are a demanding support, it will either push the player to a higher level or reduce them to jelly. See Mark Hateley.

I listened to the commentary and TBH Tyldesley was making a joke about it.

The idea that in all his years of commentary he's never came across a support as demanding as ours when he's visited every ground in the EPL and countless others in Europe and further afield is ludicrous

Nah the issue is a good percentage of 'fans' at Ibrox haven't got a clue about football and just want to moan for a few hours because they probably don't get their hole at home anymore.

The same types on here who proudly boast "I don't watch football other than Rangers'.

You actually hear moans around Ibrox when someone passes the ball sideways to retain possession.

He spoke about the early afternoon rain at one point, afterwards i thought it would have been magnificent, if he said early morning afternoon rain.

No such luck, :(
Shame on the forum for not picking this up. Standards have dropped.

A classic Mossblown Loyal quote handed to us on a plate and no-one picks it up.

Don't worry mate - I get you :D

Early morning night flight Loyal :D

I cringe when I read stuff like this. Sitting at Ibrox, arms folded with a face on, giving the players abuse at every turn is an embarrassment. It's certainly not "support". It's not something to be proud of. These twats are not the standard bearers at Ibrox.

That'll be the squeaky voiced prick that sits next to me in the EE you heard today Clive. Never fucking stops.

I swear I'm going to end up lamping the fucker.

There’s a lad up the back of MRR. He was unbelievable today. Made a fool of himself actually with then way he went on. At this rate I’ll need to move seats to get away from the guy.

Can you not have a word with him? If he's the tit, why should you lose out?

Some of the negativity coming from the fans yesterday definitely couldnt be classed as demanding. A lot of it is just clueless abuse of players.
Guy sitting behind me yesterday, in his 60's at least, was clearly one of these men who doesn't get to speak in the house.

Non stop clap trap and abuse for 90 minutes. Also mixed up Kamara and Aribo constantly.

It clearly gets to the players on the pitch too. The moans and groans lead to a slow creep backwards imo (although the managers subs accelerated that).

Is it any coincidence we broke all sorts of defensive records last year with zero fans in the stadium. And our best players from that season Goldson and Tav look absolute shadows of the players they were last year.

This.

There is being demanding and then there is acting like a big f*cking kid.

It was ridiculous against Hibs. There was one moment during the first half when, with nothing aheead of him, Barisic turned and passed it backwards, retaining possession. You'd think had sold a goal going by the noise from the stands.

It's always been that way.

Timmy porn.

Didnt know Clive was playing today, but suppose everyone gets it when we don't win a game.

Did the girls serving the food have a poor game too?
perhaps not the girl serving the food, but i bought the 4th kit from the rangers store on the club deck concourse today, and the lassie who served me seemed like she wasnt too interested or chatty. couldnt believe it, i was raging

There is so much snideness from the old greetin' faced bastard types. Some of them seem to take it personally when a player they don't like does something good. Sit there in a wee huff.

Clive seems to comment constantly on how celtic are getting on in games he seems to be the only one who wants to know.
He was giving regular updates on all the games yesterday - to the point I was fed up with it. That’s probably more because the Dhims were winning. Tom the Comm tends to only update us when Dhims are struggling.

He’s right about the crowd though. We can dress it up as being ‘demanding’ all we want but it’s not a trait I think is good. It’s possible to be ‘demanding’ without jumping on the players at every mistake.
