£40 - £60m required to get us back in the game.

We’re currently rudderless without any leadership or direction. We need our leaders to announce a huge injection of cash to stop the rot and put us on an even keel. People talking about not renewing is very worrying.

£40-60m???? Have we moved to the EPL?
What’s more infuriating to me is the fact that we don’t need to spend millions and millions because they’re not that good.
They will never be able to attract the level of player to pull so far away from us that we can’t catch them.
I guess that’s the one positive we can take from playing in a backwater league

Really? When will people wake up to the fact that nobody - absolutely nobody - is going to 'gift' us a large donation of cash - especially at the level of £40-£60m. It is not happening. King and his allies have already injected circa £20m and King is about to 'waste' another few million on this bloody 'concert party' share offer. Other than those guys there is nobody waiting in the wings. Not a soul.

It’s not about spending huge amounts of money it is having a board that can make basic decisions well and bringing a manager that is tactically aware and has the presence to control and motivate the players

Where does that figure come from?

This is not a problem that can have money thrown at it, what we need to do is spend better. The wastage has been nothing short of disgraceful for years, from overpaying a team to win lower leagues (even ignoring the thieving of Mike Ashley and his pals) to more recent spunking cash on has beens and in the case of Caixinha, Pena, Herrera never weres.

Spend what we have wisely and we will improve. We are a club which should from now forwards always generate more than £2om of annual revenue. That should afford a better manager than Graham Murty and playing squad than we have.

At the same time, we should be focused on getting as lean as we can be on non-football related expenditure and whilst still allowing us to go out and improve commercial revenues.

It is a simple business - shame the guys running it are clueless.

FFS Rodgers came in on £2m a year and brought in Dembele & Sinclair for £4/5m combined. Have a word with yourself man.

The problem with us is for every one step forward we have made on the pitch we shoot ourselves in the foot with a bazooka everytime which sends us two steps back.

Since we beat Celtic in the SCSF 2 years ago we haven’t done one thing to move forward which is a disgrace.

Only when teams and refs are scared to be on the same pitch as us will I know we're finally back in the game. How much we'll need to achieve that, however, is up for question.

The amount of 'waste' in the last few years may be precisely why it is unlikely.

Indeed you are correct but we now cannot afford any more mediocrity. No one will take the job without a chance to rebuild with funds. This board will need to find it.

Way over the top, as has been said, 2mil per year for a manager that can compete with Rogers (that will do more for us than spunking 5mil on 1 player) and 10-12mil spent wisely will see us there or at least close enough to get it the following year.

Kilmarnock have 2 defeats in 20 games in this league purely by hiring a competent manager who is able to get the most out of the players he has. They have gone from a relegation battle to competing for 2nd place. In what world is 40m required to win this league? The board should focus on getting the right manager first and maybe spend a bit extra doing that. Obviously we need to also invest in a few quality players but nowhere near the amount stated is necessary.

Go on then. You think getting us out of this mess is a £20 fix.

Mate, we are 13 points behind and made 2 semi finals this year. With an absolutely horrific team which has been plagued by injuries all season, an under 20's coach managing the team and an impostor taking us for the first half of the season.

If they lose Rodgers it's game on or we employ a semi-decent/ competent manager it's game on without really having to do much.

We don't need anywhere near that.

Look at the Celtic team we beat 3 years ago. The majority of that team are still there, but they were widely considered as total diddies.

They got a quality manager and a handful of quality signings, and they were transformed. We can do the same with the right manager and the right recruitment.

Putting a figure on what we need is daft, smart recruiting is the name of the game. Pedro spent a fortune on dross and look at where that has got us. This summer will be the one where the likes of Mark Allen need to earn their keep- source a good managerial appointment and make some good acquisitions and we'll all be feeling a lot better about the situation. Going the other way (again) doesn't bear thinking about..

I'll chip in 25m if someone can come up with the rest...

Realistically we need less than a quarter of that.

Also this whole “£2 Million for manager and we’ll be fine” patter is fucking shite. Why are we trying to play catch up with them by copying everything they do but a few years later? We’ll never overtake them like that. We could go out and find a manager that would ask for a 500k salary and be the best in the country ffs it’s not about that, it’s about finding the right man, and while this man would be an Ex Prem done it on the continent type guy that would ask for a high wage it could also be someone who fits the bill of exactly what we need and not cost too much. Just because something fits one club doesn’t mean it will fit another and also just because something is more pricey doesn’t mean it’s more effective.

The only positive I can gleen from Sunday is that the rhats board will not give Brenda any money for new players. This means if we use our player transfer budget wisely and get the right players in we should get closer next season.

Who could we trust now with sll our millions. One more shit transfer market could seriously damage our health

We might need 40m. We might need 100m. We might only need 10m or 5m or 5 brilliant free transfers. I'm not in the " we need tens of million" club. We need people running the club and the team who can utilise what we have and find the right players to win the league, get the best put of the ones we have. That may not cost that much. Or the wrong manager may be given 40 million. Then we may need another 40? We need the right manager that's what we need. I firmly believe the right manager could turn this around with 10 million or less.

another new member with another ridiculous post ..

It's like someone somewhere is having a competition.

Who can post the most ridiculous thing and get people to actually argue for and against it.

This one - let's get the club £80m in debt, there's a greta idea.

Getting a competent manager is the most important. A top class manager with Pedro's summer budget would not have seen the shambles that this season has brought.

So you’re saying we need 60 Morelos’ to win the league?

(I realise that he hasn’t been great, of late.

Christ sake here we go again. Pick an arbitrary amount of x amount of million is the figure we need. What is the point?

As others have said, even the bottom end of the OPs figure is massively over the score. Celtic haven’t invested that amount to get to where they are.
The Manager is by far and away the most important part of this, Killie have shown this season that even with a small budget you can do really well with the correct guy in charge. Down south Burnley and Bournemouth have proven the same thing.
