2 OF games -2 games with obvious problems the manager didn't deal with

At the Piggery we knew we had to impose ourselves and not let them play to their strengths at home....if it were a boxing match it would have been stopped after 20 mins as it was we held on to lose another goal at the stroke of HT.
They give us the ball 2nd half we barely laid a glove on them. Manager had zero impact on the game.

Today they were 2 big calls how to set up with Roofe and the midfield balance. Roofe was left isolated for 90 mins. We started with one player with genuine pace and left the midfield open. We had 3 attacking options on the bench in a game we might need to chase late on- One of them being Arfield ffs who is not an attacking player as such-we had the loan boy from Man U who is MIA since the Piggery game. For the second game on the trot Celtic effectively pretty much sat in and defended for 45 mins. Again changes had little impact on the game.

Today he had to get the big calls right and he didn't-not suggesting it was easy but even when they were picking us open in the first half nothing changed. We look disjointed , we relied upon a player clearly not fit enough for the intensity of this game. We have got ourselves into a very tight situation by not rotating squad players who would have given us an option today.....and now we face a run in relying on who?

These games make or break managers and Gio looks woefully out of his depth at this stage. Absolutely 100% he hasn't had the option to change much. However in a variety of games he has gambled on players who haven't delivered and have then played very minor parts. It looks a mess to be frank.

Good managers make hard decisions-sometimes what appears to be negative ones- Walter was the master of unpopular line ups in OF games which delivered results. Gio is at heart quite a cautious manager who paradoxically doesn't set up with a tight formation. He needs to get a firm grip in the run in now or it is going to be very hard to justify him being the man to take us forward.

None of us are professionals but I cannot remember back to back OF games when the obvious defects absolutely unfolded before our eyes.
