5 Under 12's still at Rangers 9 years later.

9 years ago Rangers U12's met Wolves. It is interesting to note that 5 players are still at the club. Of the others two are at a decent level. Jordan Houston at Ayr United and Carlo Pignatiello at Livingston.

Cammy Kerr was a highly rated tennis player and gave up football to concentrate on tennis. Dylan Paterson was an incredible talent but possibly the smallest player I have seen coming through the age groups. Just found out he was recently playing for Boness United.

Thanks Elfideldo. Great to see- the next step is getting them into the first team.
Stephen & Lewis seem to have a decent chance

Young Carlo was treated poorly by Rangers. A genuine top prospect for years at the Club since signing while still at Primary School then released after struggling with injury. As you can see from that match report how he contributed to the team and did so regularly. He played against us at Ibrox last season in the cup at right back for Stranraer and was on the bench for Livingston against us at the weekend.

Kelly, Palmer, Mayo, Shiels & Thompson.

Kelly & Mayo are the more ‘likely’ candidates to contribute to the first team. Both are 21 though, as is Palmer. Believe the other two are 20.

Missed a great chance to equalise in the last minute at Celtic Park last month.

Carving a career in the top flight though.

Kelly and Mayo are 20.

Surprised Kelly has not had more of an impact at RC.

Really talented boy but time is running out for him terms of making it with us.

My mistake mate, in all honesty I’m not really surprised. I’ve got family up in Dingwall & went to a few games last season, Paton was just breaking through.

Therefore I didn’t think it was the right move for Kelly because Paton albeit a couple of years older, in the summer when I spoke to people I know up there they essentially said Kelly would be competing with him so unlikely to play much.

From the games I’ve watched this season Paton is playing well so looks unlikely Kelly will be getting much game time. Possible recall, because like you said he’s running out of time.

At least Kelly has started getting off the bench though, it’s a start.

On a different note, how highly is the boy Williamson rated. I noticed he was captain of the B team at the weekend and looks a strong lad.

Only just found out that the aforementioned Cammy Kerr is the brother of current academy players Brodie Kerr (2005) and Arran Kerr (2007).

Three brothers is quite an achievement.

Off the top of my head I can think of the Mebude brothers Done (1998), Dapo (2001) and Dire (2004).

The 1991 Jacobs triplets Kyle, Devon and Sheldon.

Sorry to derail the thread, but the name Pignatiello caught my eye.
For some reason I saw that a Kalvin Orsi was playing for Dundee United a few weeks ago, and now I see a Pignatiello is playing for Livi.
Are these the sons of the scumbags that were running the extortion rackets in Glasgow?

Is this just lazy scouting? Or does someone know Mr Kerr?? Ffs how come we have 3 brothers all different age group at youth level?

So you have never seen any of them play, but you know it either lazy scouting or someone knows the da.

I usually watch a player a few times before I come to any conclusions.
So you think it’s just by chance 3 brothers have been individually picked up by Rangers at some stage? out of the thousands of boys at each individual age group they all end up at Rangers?

Maybe they noticed Cammy had talent, thus had scouts at our clubs games in the future at the younger teams to see if we had any other talent?.

FWIW when Cammy got picked up a couple of boys from our area also did by other teams IIRC.

At that age it wasn’t a surprise he got picked up, can’t comment on his brothers though but like I said it’s possible they just seen our BC had talented players and thus scouts would come.

It’s obviously unusual three brothers all get picked up but I don’t there is anything sinister in it :))

Is it okay to have two brothers ? like Robbie and Ross McCrorie ? We have had loads of pairs or brothers. Then why not three, as I said before its the third time it has happened in fairly recent years.

The Jacobs brothers came from the same boys club, Rangers signed the whole team, I guess you wouldn't approve of that either. Most of them went on to play professional football, Danny Wilson, Rhys McCabe, Darren Cole & Nicky Clark all played in Rangers first team from that same boys club team.

Unlike you I have seen all of them play, which is generally what I like to do before making forming an opinion or coming to any conclusion.

You have not seen any of them play.

You could be right mate maybe it’s just my suspicion mind!!

Ok mate I’ll take your word on it that these boys (brothers) are there on merit and not convenience.

I think you are correct there.

My mate used to coach at Auchenhowie from about 2010-2012 or so before he moved to America to coach. He coached kids around about 10-11 years old and used to rave about that kid Dylan Paterson in the OPs match report

Used to watch a lot of youth games, not once did I think any of them would be a first team player.
Op has obviously seen more than me but I'd wager none of the five mentioned will make the first team on a regular basis.

I heard Dylan Paterson was due to play for Queens Park against Rangers in The Glasgow Cup today but they never got the paperwork done in time.

Lennons pal that he “didn’t know”

It’s not just about how they play on the park. Behaviour of the park training all that come into it as well.

DETECTIVES fear a gangland thug linked to protection rackets and drug-dealing is trying to befriend footballer Neil Lennon.

Drugs squad officers watched underworld heavy Tony Pignatiello meet up with the Celtic idol outside a nightclub.

A confidential police intelligence report seen by the Sunday Mail and circulated to senior officers details how a surveillance team watched as the men met in Glasgow.

The monitoring officers informed their superiors but were unable to warn Lennon for fear of exposing their operation.

A force insider said: ''People like Pignatiello tend to gravitate towards people with money or status in the hope it rubs off.

''Lennon is a perfect target and he needs to be careful.

''These people aren't his friends. They would split him into pieces in a second if he crossed them.''

Pignatiello, who is known as Tony P, was introduced to the 32-year-old by Martin Reilly, the player's representative in Scotland.

The Northern Irish midfielder is unaware of Pignatiello's background or fearsome reputation.

But officers fear the thug may try to exploit his relationship with Lennon tobolster his reputation in the city's pubs and clubs.

The Strathclyde Police intelligence report says: ''Pignatiello was observed just after 11 pm in the company of the Celtic player Neil Lennon.

''Both were observed at the front door of the nightclub shaking hands with the assistant manager. Neither had to wait in the queue.

''Pignatiello and his associates, Nello Orsi and Thomas Campling are well known throughout the division for their involvement in violence, disorder, drug dealing and extortion.''

The intelligence bulletin, issued atthe end of last year, warns officers to be on the lookout for Pignatiello and his gang.

His associates include violent drug dealer Nello Orsi and thug Thomas Campling, both of whom have been jailed for running a protection racket.

The men are also linked to Barry ''Braveheart'' Hughes, the boxer revealed in last week's Sunday Mail to be at the centre of a police inquiry into money laundering.

The report also states that two other associates of Pignatiello have recently made threats against a witness at the trial of Orsi, who has only just been freed from jail.

They targeted a witness from Orsi's trial.

The bulletin asks for any sightings of the gang to be reported immediately. But a police source said: ''Tony Pignatiello is the main associate of Orsi.

''They are very tasty boys who spend their time trying to muscle their way into security contracts.''

Pignatiello, 34, wears the latest designer clothes and sports black glasses.

As he tours his favourite bars in the city he never drinks much or stays too long at any given venue.

Originally from Paisley, he made his reputation by fighting his way up the gangland scene to gain a foothold in the drug scene.

He is so feared in Glasgow nightclub circles he has been barred from almost every club in the city centre.

But he can be seen regularly at Cleopatra's nightclub in the city's west end, surrounded by heavily built associates.

He and his gang are regular weight lifters at a city centre gym and have connections across the west of Scotland.

Orsi was last year sentenced to 19 months in jail for his part in an extortion racket on Glasgow nightclubs.

Orsi threatened to kill bosses if they refused to let his dealers sell drugs on their premises.

He wrecked their clubs, attacked their cars and terrorised staff and customers.

Orsi and his henchmen are responsible for former Trash nightclub owner Mark Woodhouse fleeing Glasgow.

He refused to cave in to their demands of hundreds of pounds each week.

Orsi, 35, pleaded guilty to four charges at Glasgow Sheriff Court last June.

The thug admitted to breach of the peace when he threatened to kill Cube nightclub bosses Michele Pagliocca and Carlo Citti.

A staggering 65 witnesses were cited to appear at the trial.

Many were escorted to the court by police officers amid fears of intimidation.

Pignatiello and his gang warned one witness he would be ''dealt with'' upon Orsi's release, and detectives have no doubts over the severity of the threat.

Are they here for longer than usual because we scouted better players to start with or are we training them better?

If it's the training then if we get the correct players in the first instance we would be on to a winner.
