#55 – The Playlist Of Champions!

Getting my Spotify playlist ready for when Tav raises that big cup above his head and the league flag is finally home. Obvious ones to start with but need some more.

I already have a playlist of our more cultural and football related songs so I’m thinking more mainstream music.

Tina Turner - Simply The Best
Queen - We Are The Champions
The Drifters - Come On Over To My Place
Roy Orbison -Penny Arcade
Stone Roses - This Is The One

What am I missing? Cheers.

Andra Day - Rise Up

First heard it on an advert over Christmas. The lyrics made me think about our journey, incredible vocal on it from the lassie as well, I'd never heard of her before but apparently quite well known. Very uplifting, as the title might suggest.

I've also started mine so this will be bookmarked.

Hermes House Band is a good one to add to the list. Footballs coming home.
Maria by Scooter for some volume and Sloop John B (you can add your own words) :)

I have Katherine Jenkins' Rule Britannia on mine.

Also follow follow/hullo hullo by the treble twins and first team squad (1993)

Can’t believe you ain’t got whole again by atomic kitten

Looking back on where we first met
I can not explain and I cannot forget
Gerrard your the one
You still Turn me on
The league flags coming home again

Neither of these appear to have been mentioned yet.

Best day of my life. American authors.
Marching through Georgia. Acker Bilk.

Dedicated to the man who made it all possible and saved us from oblivion-

Years And Years - King

Great idea! What's it called on Spotify and I'll give it a follow :)

Mental As Anything is a must as Valley Bluenose has stated...

How about these:
Nothing's Gonna to Stop Us Now - Starship
Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
Never Give Up - Sia
Every time I hear Don't Stop Believing I remember Helicopter Sunday and the video that was posted on here shortly after. :))

Burning Heart - Survivor

If only for belting out the famous lines

"In the warriors code, there's No Surrender"

Gets me everytime it comes on the 80's music channels and I just wait to shout that line out

I have exactly the same as the Op with the addition of sloop John B instrumental.

I'll be updating with some of the suggestions on here though...

Cracking wee nod to Dubai in the proposed CD cover.

Top of the league, catch us if you can B-)
Every time I hear the opening bars I’m instantly transported back to that feeling in 87, then thinking of all the joyous years that followed, the highs and lows, the camaraderie of following home and away, and the utter hell of the recent past that is about to be officially ended, it just makes me well up.
46 years of age and I’m going to be crying like a baby when Tav lifts that trophy! B-D
