Accies future in doubt?

Can't believe someone would actually write so many words without knowing what they are talking about.

SLC take the entire stand of offices at market value. They were purpose built for them internally and for their uses. The offices in a normal trading year would comfortably get 300k per annum. Colins point is they are bailing during a pandemic and leaving little to no chance of renting given current circumstances.
He should try running a pub in the Pandemic or a Restaurant or a Hotel
The Council have obviously getting office space cheaper elsewhere

Is it market value though. How much space is it based on Hamilton rental levels. I would be amazed if that is market value. 300 K will get you a decent amount of prime office space in the city centre. If they are used as offices I can’t imagine they are purpose built, like space used for specialist labs or so ?
It's actually SLC property Valuations board that rent it. They are legally obliged to pay no more than market rate.

Dont understand why likes of hamilton & motherwell dont sell their grounds and build a 10,000 seater in lanarkshire they can both share and split costs of upkeep ,a lot of teams in scotland would surely benefit from groundsharing ,dundee & dundee utd aswell
Indeed. Parochialism will kill them. Oh well, never mind.

I absolutely feel for you Robert and miss your boozer amongst others.

SLC are moving to their own premises in Blantyre as there will be space due to relocating other departments and redundancies.

My issue is having snide digs for no reason or not having background info.

The Council aren't going to keep forking out for office space when 90% of their staff are working from home these days.

One of the most vocal in his backing of the SPFL and the corrupt vote to hand the mentally challengeds the league back in April.

He didn’t seem to have any issues with the Dundee vote scandal and clubs being financially bribed.

An utter prick of a man.
And just think if we had played last season out the spfl wouldn't of been due Bt 3 million or had to give Sky the sponsorship right for nothing. All money these clubs could of had. But no they opted to jump into bed with the cartel instead I dont have any hatred for Hamilton apart from les gray but there short term thinking along with others will cost them again

If they give me their account number, sort code and PIN number, and I’ll sort them out.

300k is huge money to them

£300k per year, sounds like he was ripping off the Council. No wonder they're departing. As for donating a years rent for community benefit someone needs to tell him Councils are skint and, if Covid has taught them anything, its that lots of staff can work from home. I'd expect office accommodation rationalisation across the country now.

Hamilton Accies and Colin do some absolutely stunning work with local charities. Homelessness, addiction whether that be drugs, drink or gambling etc. At huge expense, supported by the club and loads of local sponsoring buisnesses. Would be a huge shame for them to not be able to continue supporting that.
He is doing nothing more than expressing huge concern to a South Lanarkshire decision to vacate the stadium offices.

Lets not be little bitches for no reason.
Well said mate

It served their interests, meant they stayed up

I don't think Hamilton.s hierarchy covered themselves in glory while backing up the SPFL and the fact their guy then got a seat at the top table.
Always had a wee soft spot for them as they were Rangers opponents in the first game I remember
But it is right the Council get the best deal for their ratepayers

Yes and yes. Agreed on both. Current shifting sands on the pitch will hopefully address the power shift from the East more towards us and at least be more even, even if we're up against placemen for a few years yet.

The stadium and community trust at Accies feel let down by the sudden nature of the departure and it will impact severely. Nowt wrong with me supporting and being defensive of that as a born and bred Hamilton man with a little insight.

SLC clearly are no longer wanting the office space though and instead Collins is asking if they're not going to rent further (which so far they've indicated they're not going to) for a “goodwill” payment to cover rent for a year. The council shouldn't consider making a payment for office space they don't currently want just out of goodwill.

As SLC are vacating the premises next May and have provided sufficient notice, I'm not sure it's beyond the realms of possibility for Hamilton to rent the offices to other parties after that date.

There's too many clubs in Scotland, however I fully understand why clubs wouldn't want to amalgamate, the fans, but surely this must be the next best thing .

Well said sir. No need for this level of spite imo

Yes, totally agree with your breakdown. However, do they let it go without a fight or try to play whatever cards they can to extend the deal a little. Or indeed muster sympathy in the business community to find another tenant willing to help out. His statement has got him Scottish wide press on TV and printed media.

This must count as state aid. I mean how can the councile be paying 300k for offices. its no exactly downtown manhattan

I wish I could find some sympathy for them, after all they are one of the most iconic names in Scottish football. However, after the way their own acted in the SPFL debacle last spring I couldn’t care less what happens to them

...sorry Academical

Academical hates the Nats with a passion so willing to cut his club some slack.
I know mentally challengeds who hate nats with a passion, right now I'm on shift with an Aberdeen fan who utterly despises them.

I'd feel sorry for Academical as a football fan and a person if his club were in trouble, the club themselves get no sympathy from me though.

Maybe Les Grays master could deliver a rousing speech to South Lanarkshire Council on his behalf.

"Let's not be little bitches for no reason"

Pretty much what Les Gray was saying about Rangers in the summer. Read this article.
He picked his side. F'ck him, that abomination of a pitch that has no place in our league and his crappy little club.

If your working, have a mortgage and paying into a pension and have a brain, you won't vote snp, it would appear many Scots don't!!! Hope Hamilton are OK

Hope Accies are ok, just thinking about clubs in financial trouble, as a Rangers fan, you hate celtic, hibs, and most of all for me, aberdeen, would I like to see them disappear? absolutely not, it's that hatred/intensity that keeps football going.

Les is a Rangers man as well.

According to Academical he originally supported Thistle and on a personal level favoured Rangers being booted out of Scottish football altogether in 2012.

Do his actions and comments resemble those you’d expect from a ‘Rangers man’?
