What's the story

Posted a while ago a picture of him with the boots on. Anyone know if hes likely to be back playing any time soon? Cant come soon enough in my opinion.
I don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. When he broke through and played well he then disappeared again. Gio seems like one of those managers who is forced into using youngsters like he has with King.
More criticism of the manager from the land of make believe.I don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. When he broke through and played well he then disappeared again. Gio seems like one of those managers who is forced into using youngsters like he has with King.
There's a few who should be getting more game time , stand out being McCann...People need to calm down a bit about Lowry otherwise the pressure on him is going to be immense. I’ve watched him quite a bit for the B team and he has bags of talent but I can’t see him playing every week once he’s fit. Still has lots to learn.
Unfortunately I believe you will be correct. He will get some game time but not on a regular basis. We all know how Gio operates and he will only use him if absolutely necessary.I don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. When he broke through and played well he then disappeared again. Gio seems like one of those managers who is forced into using youngsters like he has with King.
Absolute rubbish!I don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. When he broke through and played well he then disappeared again. Gio seems like one of those managers who is forced into using youngsters like he has with King.
Just off the top of my head, Middleton, Kelly, Patterson, Atakayi, Dickson, Houston, Kennedy, King, McPake, Mebude, McCrorie all made debuts or played under Gerrard. What a load of pish. Gio has given more first team chances to youth players than Gerrard ever did.
Gio gave Lowry his debut. Despite having more experienced options at his disposal and then he managed his game time after that. Mainly due to the pressure him and the team were under at the time. Gio has shown zero reluctance to play youth players, he started King at Anfield when he didn't need to. He could have easily gone for a back three of Goldson, Davies, Lundstram and started Jack or Kamara in midfield on Tuesday night. He trusted King.
Like away at Hearts last season , he wasn’t forced to play a team of kids but he did it.I don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. When he broke through and played well he then disappeared again. Gio seems like one of those managers who is forced into using youngsters like he has with King.
I agree with this - I don’t think Lowry gets fit and straight into the squad never mind the starting XI.I don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. Could even include Bassey if you wanted
So lets not distort the truth with outlandish claims.
Playing youth was consistent at feynoord as wellI don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. When he broke through and played well he then disappeared again. Gio seems like one of those managers who is forced into using youngsters like he has with King.
More sickening was the culprit only gets a booking no further punishment, yet Jim Goodwin get 8 game ban for speaking the truthFirst of all - It's sickening that Lowry has been out this long because of a totally unnecessary & criminal tackle
But I sincerely hope he's given as much time as needed to fully recover
If that means being a bit over cautious- then so be it - recuperation time is what's important - not rushing back early - creating problems later on
It probably makes sense for him to be kept 'on ice' till after the WC - even if we're all frustrated at not having him available meantime
There are 11 names on your list,12 with Bassey, in 4 yearsJust off the top of my head, Middleton, Kelly, Patterson, Atakayi, Dickson, Houston, Kennedy, King, McPake, Mebude, McCrorie all made debuts or played under Gerrard.

Boots on picture means maybe about 6 months away
Tbf he was available in the latter part of last season and was used very sparingly so I wouldn't expect him to be involved regularly this season either.
I’ve seen this mentioned a couple of times about the defensive side of Lowry’s game. Is it lack of experience, or a touch of laziness when covering or tracking?Agree Rab.
He can go anywhere in terms of talent, but in terms of doing the dirty work that every top pro must do, and approaching his profession as a profession, he must work to sort that.
Yeah he might have got a chance with Lawrence being injured but obviously he hasn't been available to even be considered.Yeah this is what people miss when it comes to Lowry and it's probably why he won't play as much as people think when he's available again.
Why so aggressive? What a load of pish. Gio has given more first team chances to youth players than Gerrard ever did.

I am in the if you are good enough you are old enough camp.Other teams have no problem playing g younger players like Jude Bellingham who is now also a fixture with England.Historically we have had loads of young players as regular starters.Big DJ and Parlane for example.People need to calm down a bit about Lowry otherwise the pressure on him is going to be immense. I’ve watched him quite a bit for the B team and he has bags of talent but I can’t see him playing every week once he’s fit. Still has lots to learn.
An away game at Tynecastle and another at Anfield.Yeah he might have got a chance with Lawrence being injured but obviously he hasn't been available to even be considered.
McCann got a sniff a few weeks ago and didn't do anything wrong without being brilliant and hasn't been seen since.

Would you have played him there?

I see McCann's long term future being as an alternative to Jack, Davis, Kamara, rather than the attacking midfield role he occupied that day. I just don't see him having the required skill set. Lowry on the other hand fits the profile perfectly.Charlie will have benefited from that match, and I was delighted to see him start, but anyone saying he had a great game that day would be kidding themselves on.
For example, if Arfield had been so disappointing with those three chances Charlie had he’d have been criticised.
Still a boy with loads of time on his hands, and a great attitude, and I’m sure he’ll get more chances this season.

Whilst not disagreeing with your post mate , the only evidence I’ve ever seen of young breakthrough Rangers players learning is by getting game time for Rangers or leaving .People need to calm down a bit about Lowry otherwise the pressure on him is going to be immense. What age was bassey?I don't think Gio will use him much, hope I'm wrong. When he broke through and played well he then disappeared again. Gio seems like one of those managers who is forced into using youngsters like he has with King.
Lowry or McCann? An away game at Tynecastle and another at Anfield.

Youth players will get a chance, if they are good enough. It's not outlandish, that was over the course of 3/4 seasons. Gerrard barely played the youth and especially not with any kind of regularity. Patterson was the exception. Middleton was primarily played out of necessity in his first season due to how poor our squad depth was. As soon as we had depth, Gerrard seldom gambled with youth players.
Gio has near enough matched that inside a year, McKinnon, McCann, Niso, Fraser, Lovelace, Ure, Devine, Lowry, McAusland and Weston all handed debuts under him.
Besides, I wasn't bashing Gerrard, I was simply pointing out that Gio does play youth players and has done so more frequently than Gerrard ever did. Yet people barely slated Gerrard or accused him of neglecting the youth. Whereas they say these things about Gio all the time, despite it being completely contradictory.
he didnt have a great game but he played completely fine.Charlie will have benefited from that match, and I was delighted to see him start, but anyone saying he had a great game that day would be kidding themselves on.
