Rangers star Alfredo Morelos' agent Michael Gorman has rounded on Scottish referees after his client was booked for simulation against Livingston.

The Colombian looked to have been clipped by Lions keeper Max Stryjek as he knocked the ball past him but match official John Beaton flashed a yellow card instead of awarding a spot-kick.

The incident seemed to prompt a furious reaction from Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard who was shown a red card and sent to the stand for his protestations.

And World In Motion intermediary Gorman, who has publicly backed his client in the past on Twitter over his treatment in Scottish football, claims that his client showed "incredible restraint" to stay calm.

He said on Twitter: "At this point, it’s almost comical.

"SPFL referees clearly treating Morelos unfairly in comparison to other players.

Incredible restraint shown by Alfredo to not lose his cool after the terrible call."

Yeah OK Michael we know he’s going just shut it and let us enjoy him for a few more matches. Can’t believe we may only have a dozen more matches of Alfie. It will feel like a death in the family or a broken love affair.

Alfie wants a crack at the CL, going nowhere

I don't know how many times I've said this in the last 3 seasons, but I am sick to the back teeth of the treatment Alfredo gets.

Never seen anyone refereed the way he is.

The media set the agenda. Refs, like others members of society, are influenced by what they read and hear on tv, radio and in the papers.

We have been demonised to the point that its not just acceptable to treat us badly, its expected. Its a cultural norm like hating Donald Trump or supporting BLM.

I fully expect our title winning celebrations to lead to condemnation, ridicule and endless negative headlines and that's regardless of what we do. Watch this space.

Wherever Alfie decides to play his football in the future, he will never find another country where he is treated differently, in football terms, to others.
It’s to his credit he has not let it affect his progression with us.

Remember the Kilmarnock one & the Aberdeen one he gave as a free kick too NA.

He is scared to be seen giving us decisions mate.

He should resign if he can’t be objective.

Public perception has been skewed in favour of Celtic and against Rangers. This is the result of years of attacks by the press and media. Being objective isnt the norm and anyone trying to do this is classed as bigot by our enemies.

Well said LOL.

We should be adopting your suggestion & getting all data on the table.

If we hadn’t been so brilliant this season decisions such as tonight’s could have cost us.

This should have been highlighted a long time ago by his agent and the club ... as well as the likes of Leckie being made an example of by being called out publicly for blatant xenophobia
