The striker replaced James Rodriguez during the closing stages of his side's 1-0 win over Japan.

It was but a brief cameo but Alfredo Morelos always seems to make his mark on a game.
The Rangers striker won his second cap for Colombia on Friday as he came on as an 87th-minute substitute in the 1-0 win over Japan.
Morelos replaced James Rodriguez and was given little time to impress with the friendly clash drawing to a close.
But the 22-year-old was denied an assist by the width of the post after picking out Luis Fernando Diaz.

He also found time to nutmeg an opponent in a display that still managed to catch the eye of the Colombian media.
Miguel Angel Prieto Perez wrote in AS: "Just a few minutes for the Rangers striker who came on for James. Precise passes - like that for Diaz who then struck the post - and a fantastic nutmeg."

Next up for Colombia is another friendly encounter, this time against South Korea as new boss Carlos Queiroz eases himself into the role.

The former Manchester United coach hailed Morelos as the "future of football in Colombia" and insisted he wanted to see the frontman in action over the two fixtures.
Considering he was brought on with only minutes remaining against Japan, Morelos will hope for an extended run-out against the Koreans on Tuesday.
Steven Gerrard, however, will simply pray his star man returns fit to face Celtic on March 31.

A talent to be celebrated and enjoyed.

Such a crying shame we exist in such a parochial backwater that refuses to do anything other than moan, complain and be negative about everything.
Can you imagine the publicity and attention the Scottish game would get if we had a proactive sfa?

In fact, they probably want the opposite. Highlights their short comings

Good, potentially great footballers, never properly appreciated,in our backwater of a country!!!.m.o.

I reckon if there was a poll of non-Rangers fans asked "What player do you hate the most in Scotland"

Alfie would romp it!

A lot of that is down to the way he is reported/ portrayed by the piss poor sports journalists and hounded by the , let Scott Brown do what the %^*& he likes , officer.
Every single non Rangers supporter would love to have him in their team anyone who says other wise is lying.

Meanwhile in Scotland Andy Walker described the nutmeg as "petulant," whilst Morelos was accused of "lashing out," by Michael Stewart after footage emerged of the Colombian kicking the football forcefully in the direction of his teammate Diaz.
The SNP have asked the police and SFA for an emergency summit.

Was keeping my eye on their game this morning, surprised they didn't make more subs sooner. You'd think in a friendly the manager would be trying out new things.

Think that was his first game. Probably would have wanted a win to start things off and Japan are a decent side.

What system were they playing as assume Alfie was playing with someone else up front. Therefore can he play with another striker, and should we change our system.

No sign of the nutmeg, but the 'almost assist' is at the end of this video, about 6m55s. Alfredo is wearing no 7, flicks the ball round the defender and is off and screaming for the return ball. :))

Scorchio, a feefa feefa scorchio!

It says it all about Scotland... a gem of a player with a genuine big future at the top level. And they spend their time trying to get him banned, creating cartoonish image of him and have non-stop negativity around him to make him public enemy number one.

Had he played for the Savilles they'd be in overdrive. What a sad country Scotland has turned into.

Picture is good but the commentary is stuck on fast forward :))

Don't understand a word of the commentary but you can tell they love the game and appreciate how lucky they are to make a living from watching football and talking about it
Compare and contrast to the dreary mob that do the game in Scotland who think they are doing you a favour if they identify the substitute

You missed ‘Rangers’ at the end of that....

If he played for any other team in our league, he’d be lauded over by all and sundry...
