So you are the skipper and you have a time machine. You can go back in time and grab any former player from any point in their career.

Lets here your picks.

So give the player name and year and month you would grab them from.

Andy Goram (1992)
Gary Stevens (1988)
Frank de Boer (1995)
Richard Gough (1992)
Giovanni van Bronckhorst (2006)
Brian Laudrup (1994)
Graeme Souness (1984)
Ray Wilkins (1984)
Ronald de Boer (1995)
Michael Mols (1999)
Ally McCoist (1993)

Sorry month is too much of a faff. Have also picked from ANY point in their career, not just their Rangers one.

Forever in my heart!
Yes, a much loved team but as one of the ancient brigade, thought that in a different way, the team of Brown, Young, Shaw, McColl, Woodburn, Cox, Waddell, Gillick, Thornton, Duncanson, Caskie, were equally good. The difference being that your team was a great attacking side, while the earlier team were so good defensively, the defence was described as the iron curtain. Mind you, they scored plenty of goals. Just an afterthought, How times have changed. Each of the players listed in both teams was Scottish.

Nice sentiment Tomted - I reckon that you will easily win the prize for naming the oldest/most historical team on this thread! I always love to hear from older Bears about the teams and players of the past, and think it's a terrible shame that the amount of available archive footage of these legends of our club are all too rare. I expect Alan Morton won't get too many mentions either, another sad example of the limited footage available.

Goram;
Jardine, Munro, Johnstone, Smith;
Gazza, Russell, MacDonald;
McLean, McCoist, W.Johnston.
Subs: McCloy, Robertson,Lauders, Souness, Hateley, Stein.

A great team but no Baxter or Henderson ?

From what I've seen, read and heard from people's opinions I value.

All at their peaks.

Woods 1986

Stevens 1988
McKinnon 1967, Wembley MOTM v World Champs
Butcher 1986
Caldow 1963

Henderson 1963
Gascoigne 1996
Baxter 1963
Laudrup 1996

Forrest 1965 (57 goals in a season, not one pen)
Johnstone 1976

At last,Jim Forrest.
Can't argue about the rest of your team either.

It is of course subjective , going to put a couple of my dad's favourites in , Dawson , Jardine, Caldow,,Greig, Woodburn,Baxter ,Waddell, Souness,Durrant,, Stein,Morton , no Gazza or Laudrup but they would come of the bench when the opposition were gubbed, so difficult to leave out wee Wullie,super and bud .

@PMB 1872 done the hard bit for me I only changed 2

Andy Goram (1992)
Gary Stevens (1988)
Frank de Boer (1995)
Richard Gough (1992)
Giovanni van Bronckhorst (2006)
Brian Laudrup (1994)
Graeme Souness (1984)
Paul Gascogne (1990)
Super Davy Cooper (1985)
Michael Mols (1999)
Ally McCoist (1993)

Goram;
Jardine, Munro, Johnstone, Smith;
Gazza, Russell, MacDonald;
McLean, McCoist, W.Johnston.
Subs: McCloy, Robertson,Lauders, Souness, Hateley, Stein.

Would only pick Goram, Jardine, Gazza and McCoist from that team.
How on earth you could choose McCloy over Chris Woods or Alan McGregor is beyond me.

Awesome post, my old man used to rhyme this team off all the time as it was his team as a kid, would also know most of the ones just before and after, but that was the team for him. Found some of his old programmes from that era recently and it was great to see, mostly, that line up throughout those years.

Goram - Feb 1992

Tavernier 2018
Gough 1992
Mclaren 1994
Van bronkorst 2006

Gattuso 2006

Laudrup 1994
Gascoigne 1996
Ferguson 2002

Hateley 1993
Negri 1997

From players I've watched. Negri in that period was the best finisher I've seen, Hateley dragged us to 6 in a row & was great during 7. RB was a problem, never seen enough of Gary Stevens, then we had Mcpherson, Cleland, Wright, Porrini etc. Cleland is very underrated though.

Since I’m only 20 so last 10-12 years worth of viewing

Mcgregor
Tavernier
Cuellar
Weir
Papac
Davis
Ferguson
Novo
Prso
Miller
Jelavic

Souness
Gazza
