They do random checks. My son and I did the ferry to get to Luxembourg and they just waived us through. My daughter and son in law did a trip a couple of weeks earlier and had their bags checked. No idea if the percentage checked.

Think it’s 16hrs. I did it 7 years ago to drive to the South of France.

Time goes in pretty quick and that’s without getting pished

You get a cabin to sleep in overnight though it's not as bad as it sounds. Most of the trip is spent "sleeping" haha although it does have bars and stuff on it so take that how you want

the thought of that ferry on choppy waters for 17 hours gives me the boak . I’m not a good seaman .

When I went it was September and a really good sailing. If there aren’t high winds forecast then it should be fine.

I travelled in force 8-9 winds in February on Loch Seaforth going to Stornoway and that wasn’t too bad either. I would have taken any conditions right enough as my original sailing the day after had been cancelled due to the forecast.

How much is that including a cabin and breakfast ? I suppose that defintley makes it more bearable . I’d be hitting my scratcher right away mind you .

Your booking includes a cabin it's basically what you're paying for. Ours was £42 each return for the whole thing. Buffet breakfast is like £8 or something. Take a few Kwells and get right to the bar for some Heineken

I wouldn't get the Ferry to Amsterdam I would get off at Ijmuiden. Trying to get a huge ferry up the North sea canal will be pretty scary. I suppose it is better than trying to jump dam right enough.
