great value I must say . That’s £50 including breakfast ? Excellent .
There were about 80 at the home game, Feyonoord Mackam flags were evident and definitely some on the Wednesday ferry although the numbers have probably been exaggerated!Confirmed? Haha this should be fun

My money’s on it being carnage with rivers of spew!
Will be like the old days when the bus trips went Dover to Calais.
Saw some sights on those boats haha.
Dortmund in 95 had to be worst sailing ever. Captain dropped the anchor in the middle of the Channel it was that choppy and rough. Even the bar staff were bricking it. Drink flying off the gantry and tables.
Was bodies lying everywhere all over the floor and Bears spewing everywhere too.
Was mental but funny now.
Fu ck that. Like you said you can laugh at it now. I would have been bricking it.

What put me off ferry’s for good was Leverkusen trip a few years later . Nithsdale bus to Dover , ferry crossing to Calais not too bad , brilliant game and a WIN, but the journey straight back after the game was wild, double decker flying through Germany and France at about 100mph in high winds and rain , ferry crossing was so wild we couldn’t get back into Dover , I just remember lying on the floor on the ferry hugging a pillar and thinking at least I saw us win before I die on this boat, and that was me without a drink since before the game . The terror on the eyes of the staff on the boat told me it was bad .
we made it eventually but I said never again and was relieved to get home
Ah mate so it was. I'm getting confused. It was Leverkusen right enough. Was absolute carnage wasn't it lol.
I dare say you maybe done Dortmund as well mate so could’ve been ? But certainly my horror journey was Leverkusen I think in 1999, I was 25 at the time and apart from very short summer holiday island hopper crossings I haven’t been in a ferry since .
Not going to see Rangers but I had the same thing. There were that many people spewing that they just threw blankets over it instead of cleaning up. Started in Newcastle we had to get pushed by tugs back on to a mooring as the ferry can't leave above wind speed 10. All the plates were flying off the tables in the restaurant which was empty. We were not allowed to enter Ijmuiden as it was wind speed 12. We were still hanging about until after 2.00pm. All of a sudden they got permission to enter the harbour and they pulled in the stabilizers and turned as quick as the boat could. Everything was flying everywhere. We were supposed to dock about 9am but it was nearer 3pm.Will be like the old days when the bus trips went Dover to Calais.

Leverkusen in 98 had to be worst sailing ever. Captain dropped the anchor in the middle of the Channel it was that choppy and rough. Even the bar staff were bricking it. Drink flying off the gantry and tables.

I doubt it lads & Lassies, I'm a member of Tyneside True Blues & haven't heard anything, plus I'm on the 17.00 Ferry on the Wednesday myselfWas wondering if there was any entertainment in the Gers pub in Gateshead on the Wednesday lunchtime/ afternoon.
Best staying in Newcastle if you are getting the DFDS bus across from Central Station, once through check in, you go straight on the ferry, find cabin, then hit the bar! works for meClosest is a mile or so away
Wow, that being back memories from the journey with nithsdale bus. I remember the scenes on that ferry back in 98. Sick everywhere and Bears lying everywhere across the floor of the lounge whilst the ferry was up and down smashing into waves. I felt too rough to realise the staff were frightened. Glad i didn’t know that then.
On the plus side, I did Newcastle to Amsterdam earlier this year and the boat was brilliant. Bar and food was good (book in advance for better meal deal). Casino as well.
You could get on ferry early and go to roof top bar where there was live music - not sure if pre departure drinks and music just moves inside at this time of year.
I'm just back from the 'Dam (mid October) & have been in February the last couple of years, I must just have been lucky with the weather or too blootered to notice, but it's been a cracking trip every time, the missus even won the bingothat sounds like two exact opposite journeys boss
ps I was one of the bears lying on the ground crying as the boat was tossed around like a wet rag . Never again
I’ve only seen that the pub Majestic on the square is showing it mateI know Gers Away have a bash in a couple pubs in Dam Square but I'm sure I read that there was talks about a more official fan zone with screens etc? Anyone know if this is a thing or just shyte?
times it shut?We done the DFDS ferry when we played Alkmar - great trip! DJ in the nightclub ever put on my ‘party’ tunes CD
times it shut?
There's shuttle bus transfers from about 7 Euros from the Port to the City Centre mate. How are we all get lying to the city from the port when we get there?
Pretty big ship mate so doubt you’d even know your on the water with this one tbhGood luck bears. Had to get the ferry home from Shetland to Aberdeen one bad winter when the choppers couldn't fly. Within 5 minutes half the boat was spewing all over the shop seriously grim. Flying from Manchester for me!

The Feyenoord Mackem flags are owned by Feyenoord fans, there’s a strong bond between the two clubs. There were about 80 at the home game, Feyonoord Mackam flags were evident and definitely some on the Wednesday ferry although the numbers have probably been exaggerated!
Sure they’ll enjoy the festivities... Geordie timsThe Feyenoord Mackem flags are owned by Feyenoord fans, there’s a strong bond between the two clubs.
I married a girl from Sunderland so live and work with loads of their fans, there’s a handful that travel to Feyenoord games, loads more Feyenoord travel the other way for Sunderland games. Random I know but there’s a group of Belgian fans who travel over for Sunderland games too!
Ha Ha wait for wind force 10-12. You will know!Pretty big ship mate so doubt you’d even know your on the water with this one tbh
Aye, that’ll be the Tim’s who are staunch loyalists and have bands over from Northern Ireland to play in pubs.Sure they’ll enjoy the festivities... Geordie tims
Going by the name “Mackam” and my experience at their ground with Pompey, yeahAye, that’ll be the Tim’s who are staunch loyalists and have bands over from Northern Ireland to play in pubs.
I've got family from Sunderland, and I've been to loads of their games. My family are obviously Rangers fans, but I wouldn't say their is an obvious preference towards either of the old firmGoing by the name “Mackam” and my experience at their ground with Pompey, yeah
Ahwell I stand correctedI've got family from Sunderland, and I've been to loads of their games. My family are obviously Rangers fans, but I wouldn't say their is an obvious preference towards either of the old firm
Going by the word “mackem”? May I suggest you look as to why they’re called mackems.Going by the name “Mackam” and my experience at their ground with Pompey, yeah
There’s a pub not far from their ground called The Jacksons, plenty of the lads who drink in there are Rangers.I've got family from Sunderland, and I've been to loads of their games.
