Are we to become a League of Nations team?

With the latest signing seeming to be a young AC Milan free transfer Clinton Nsiala I have a worry that hoovering up young talent across the globe and throwing them together into a team to try and win the title next season will be a step too far. We need experienced signings as well , we also need some Scots.
Remember the 3 foreigner rule, or the 8 diddies rule some called, it when a Rangers team that played for the jersey got us to one result from the first Champions League Final.
I get the policy that we give these players experience and then move them on for profit but we need so much more than that to win a title and a lot of luck that the signings will flourish.
Maybe the shadow of the disastrous Beale appointment still gives me the shivers and his recruitment but I hope everyone realises Clement has a helluva job in his hands to make us competitive and in such a short time.

I couldn’t give a fcuk if the team is made up of people from Gaza and Dublin as long as we win the feckin league.

We had 13 British lads ( 7 Scots, 4 English) and 5 African lads in the Euro League Final squad.

Can't be a coincidence that when the hardcore of our squad is made of Scot/Brits we do well in Europe when supplemented with foreign quality and we had 5 foreign boys from 1 continent so a bond there to start. Would've been strong bonds within the collective and them all as a whole.

Be harder for them to bond if there is little in common, like nationality/language all corners etc.

Rather have mostly Scot/Brits as the spine of the squad and then the best from foreign lands added.

Supposed to be a Scottish (British) team, rather we were that for the most part.

Except when a player isn’t suited the Scottish football (Lammers), doesn’t like the weather (Cifuentes), doesn’t pick up the lingo (Ridvan), homesick, doesn’t fancy it etc etc etc.

How many Scottish/British players can we point to that had issues as well though?

Plenty who just weren't good enough, many who decided that getting hammered regularly was more important than reaching their potential, all sorts of stuff.

So as they say, nationality doesn't matter.

if we didn't get fleeced on any Scottish talent from SPL teams, I'd be happy to see us make bids for a few in the league

it's Rangers so you know what will happen

Wee bit of borderline racism there dude. Calm it doon. Success on the pitch matters. That's it. If they are trans Palestinians, so be it. We are a club for EVERYONE and ANYONE.

Let's go.
I agree with the ‘EVERYONE ANYONE’ approach and I will support every signing that pulls on the blue jersey.

But it doesn’t stop me from thinking that it will take a helluva time to make it a competitive team with Champions League qualification round the corner.

And I also get that’s where we find ourselves due to our disastrous signing policy by Beale.

That’s my worry too…I know it’s a cliche but whoever comes in will have accept going to the likes of Rugby Park etc…might be a cracking tour around Ibrox when you arrive…but you’re in for a major surprise when dished up the rest of the league

Not being suited to Scottish football has nothing to do with nationality. Lammers had the heart of a mouse.

Not liking the weather is personality. And cifuentes had seriously limited ability

And I've seen nothing to suggest that ridvan is homesick and doesn't fancy it

Aside the language, you can have exact same issues with British players

I don’t care what nationality players are as long as they win games

However we are going to leave ourselves extremely short in European games especially if any injuries etc

Let’s face it. They are not coming to play for the only team they ever wanted to play for in a league they only ever wanted to play in.
We are a stepping to stone to something bigger and better.
Let’s hope that hunger and desire is shown on the pitch which drives us to success and a few quid in the bank when they inevitably move on.

The number of players alone coming thru the doors this summer will have an element of risk attached to them. Goes with the territory of getting what we as fans asked for in as much of a squad overhaul as possible. Just hope the new lads aren't hyped up to fk then fall short of unrealistic expectations and quickly become fodder for the the naysayers within the support.
Give this lad along with the others a chance to show what he can do for us that's all I'd say. Its encouraging that we're getting business done early doors.

I think if we get them and they're good enough I don't care where they come from and if we sell them on for a healthy profit (egBassey)all and good it will release extra funds for more advancement in the transfer market. This could be our way forward this winning the league and getting into Europe.

We need a centre mid to replace Davis, who has never been replaced

Crucial we get someone who can run a game

hope they are keeping a wee bit back till after Euros. Never know. Might find a wee hidden gem there we can afford.
Remember the days when we played in Europe and if an opposing player had a decent game we bought him. Ahhh. Them days.

Considering how weak we have been over the last ten years, I'd much rather have 11 hungry and nasty c*nts on the park than worry about their nationalities. That's what we have been missing and our major problem.

Too many signings that really didn't either a) have it or b) didn't fancy it.

Football has moved on and the thinking of some of our 45 year plus supporters is still clinging on to the past of having the core of our squad being Scottish Rangers men

The truth is any decent Scottish player doesn’t play his trade in Scotland anymore. If they show any ability at a young age they go down south where English teams can set them up for life with one contract and not really care if they make it or not.

We have to face facts that to progress we need to be signing young players with potential at the start of their journeys in the mould of Calvin Bassey and we get a rough diamond that can have a burst in ability and we can then move them on for decent fees.

Good young Scottish players have always moved down south or abroad.
That doesent mean we cant compete for them as well.I believe guys like Lewis Ferguson would have walked to Ibrox to sign for us.
He is exactly the type we need in midfield where we have often lost the battle.
