How Boca came away from Avellaneda with a victory last night is a mystery
Absolutely battered, 10 men for most of the second half. Some tremendous defensive performances, though. I'll take it.

It's the same old failings for Independiente: scoring golas. They play lovely football, create loads of chances, but hardly score any. A lot of teams could say this: if only they had a number 9.
A smash-and-grab! And up to 4th in the table now. This is going to be an exciting season - a number of teams in the mix.
Gago has done his achilles again. Think that's the third time he has suffered that injury in the superclasico.
Rumours that Gago and Tevez will now retire and that Perez will be moved on.
How old is Perez? I thought he struggled badly in the first leg..........looked better in the 1st half when Boca were more compact yesterday......but that River sub basically turned the midfield on its head.
The big destroyer type in Bocas midfield was a good player (he got booked for grabbing someone)
Was a little surprised at the lack of technical/skill over the two legs.......but given the pressure, perhaps understandably
I've spoken about this before, but will do so again for any newcomers to the Arieball thread.
On the 19th December 1971 Aldo Poy scored the most famous goal in Rosario's history. In a play-off, for the first time, against their hated rivals, Newell's, he scored a diving header to ensure that Rosario got through to the next round and Newell's didnt.
Every year since he has re-enacted this goal (diving header - palomitta) on its anniversary to the delight of Rosario fans all over the world. It is his dream to re-enact the goal in Dingwall, the birthplace of Rosario's first president, Colin Bain Calder.
