Aris Away

Me and the wife are on the same flights. Got a car picking us up to take us to limassol
we have another 2 lads flying from Luton that are meant to arrive 30 mins after us. So have a car booked for us 4 if we leave on time. Fingers crossed no problems at Gatwick 2moro

Was in Larnaca a few weeks back and went to a pub called “The Meeting Point”. Was decent, right down the beachfront.

Also went to Harry’s bar. It was close to where we stayed, and turns out is owned by a Scottish guy (rangers and chelsea fan). Stays open late too.
The meeting pub apparently put their prices up when Scotland were there other week so we will no doubt be the same

As part of our preparations for the upcoming match, we want to ensure that you have all the necessary information for a smooth experience at the Alphamega Stadium on Thursday.

There are extremely limited public transport options available for supporters attending the match. The stadium is a 2-hour-plus walk from Limassol city centre, and taxis are also in short supply.

Rangers are in discussions with local authorities to potentially provide transport from Limassol city centre to the stadium and back again. It is anticipated that the cost for this service would be no more than £10 per person, return.

If you would wish to utilise this service, then please indicate by answering the following survey:
https://forms.gle/3wwWrHw8qtEJ1oyg9

Your input will greatly assist us in making the necessary arrangements with local authorities. We will meet with Cypriot authorities tomorrow, so please ensure that the form is filled in as soon as possible.

We appreciate your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the match. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to us at slo@rangers.co.uk. The club will also issue additional supporter travel information in the build up to the match.

Just been for a wee stroll around Larnaca to do a bit of shopping for the apartment. Not much open just now but I did come across a sports bar called Shooters which is near where I’m staying. Travel tip, buy your sun screen in the UK as it’s a rip off here. I’m just waiting for the sun screen to dry in now then I’ll have a proper look around the area and likely get pissed. Can anyone recommend and good bars to visit?

Just got a message from my daughter's BF who are both over there now:

The blue pine is a good bar/food spot. Savino is a good pub style with live music sometimes.

Theres a good variety in the downtown area. A lot in walking distance.

Anybody out and about in limassol tonight?

Quick Q - I’m doing a Jet2 deal so flights and hotels. As I’m only hand luggage I’ll be off plane sharpish and not waiting around for luggage

Been a while since I did a package holiday - so is it worth hanging about for the free bus to hotel or jump in a taxi ?

Saving myself 10 mins or 2 hours ??

Where are you flying in to? Can send you a number for a reputable Paphos taxi. Might be better depending on the number of drops your shared transfer is doing.

The landlady also recommended the Savino

Where to? I came into Paphos with Jet2 tonight. The free bus journey for me was 10km but took 45mins as I was last drop off. Not an issue for me as I wasnt time dependant.

Larnaca to Limassol - looks like a 45 min drive

Thinking is - might have to wait up to an hour for other passengers to get bags then could be hour -hour and half for bus journey with drop offs

Heading towards jumping in an airport taxi

Honesty don’t see the point in transfers. Usually if there is a group of 3 or 4 it’s not even cheaper. Bus is never ready to leave when you get on and you are always one of the last off. Get a taxi, get to hotel minimum an hour earlier, and get the party started.

How much is it in a taxi from Paphos to Paphos city centre in taxi, had a look on bolt and it was saying it was 30 euro seeming a but steep

Where in Paphos mate?

And by city centre do you mean the old town?

The bus service in Paphos is really good.

Try the Cyprus bus app mate

We're Larnaca area, how's the weather as reports show rain! Need to know if its sun cream or an umbrella I need to buy.

We started out in Larnaca, it’s a wee bit hotter than Paphos. We had torrential rain in Paphos Saturday night and a couple showers last day or so. Currently roasting, umbrella won’t be required

Is anyone travelling through from Paphos to Limassol town on Thursday morning/early afternoon? Im heading over for one night..

If so, just curious what route you had planned? As far as I can see there are Inter City buses every hour or so from Karavella Bus Station. Or are there other, better options?

Hopefully hear from Rangers regarding transport from the town to the ground and back soon
