Banner Blast - Livingston hit out at Celtic fans’ ‘unapproved banners’ – and reveal issue with American school kids in home section

They just love getting the attention, they crave it, majority probably have no idea who the folk on the banner were, only knew it was Easter cause they got the time off work(?) or cause the giro went in a day earlier. They really are just a bunch of honking, soap dodging fuds. Christ I just despise everything about that rancid Club & it’s mhanky rotten fans.

They bully their way around grounds up and down the country, bully stewards and the police do nothing for fear of being filmed and having their details released online.

Their behaviour when they play at Hampden is threatening and almost violent if staff do not allow them to double up at turnstiles.

When these scumbags come to Ibrox next season there must be a no banner policy in the away end and there must be a police barrier checks before any of these cxxts get anywhere near the ground and then a second line of cops inspecting tickets and then again at the turnstiles.

The gangrene brigade should be banned from all grounds - they are a threat to public order and decency.
Yep, if the club aren't taking note for next season, there will be a hell of a lot more than 2500 in the away end. The problem is plod and stewards are terrified of them. But if there's an overcrowding issue it'll be on the club.

How
Did they manage to sneak it in then? Wasn’t exactly a stick it up your jumper and nobody will notice sizes banner was it?
by reading the article, i think they have congregated round one gate, in numbers. This forces the steward to open the gate to avoid a crush. They then scatter to all 3 stands and put up the monstrosity of a display.

eerily similar to one of the reasons communicated to the GB by celtic Fc when they were banned from their own ground.

They know for certain the police or stewards will not go in , for fear of trouble. so, as long as they can get it, they can continue to do what they want, with no trouble from officialdom.

the only way to stop this is ban the GB from every ground in the country.

Its behaviour like this that should see them offered 800 and no more at Ibrox. They arent superior to any other away support If they don't want the tickets then GTF!
No doubt there will be some on here calling for them to be allowed tifos at Ibrox as it adds to the atmosphere
They really shouldn't be allowed any of their sectarian sheidt into Ibrox.
Its like letting your worst enemy come in pump yer missus get his dinner then laugh at you.

We were able to sell out Ibrox when we were in the Lower Leagues ,when we weren't playing them.

If the roles were reversed would they be able to say the same thing? Of course not, they need us more than we need them.

That's not in reference to the pre kick off banner. They are talking about the one displayed at HT.
The one about 'dont give up on our dream' has the same lyrics as a ira song. Everything they do has some link. Albeit maybe livy are just niave. In this case ill give them the benefit of the doubt

There was a group of American school kids in the Club Deck on Saturday v Hibs. Didn’t see any of them wearing colours, ours or Hibs. Wonder if the Gangrene brigade were on one of their love us love us offensives and kitted the kids out with their rags before the game.

If Livingston have anything about them they’ll ban Celtic fans for the next home game.

The Celtic support is out of control with exits being opened, stands damaged and political banners shown when told not to.

Rangers recently banned them from the women’s game because they were aware sod what Celtic fans were planning, and Celtic refused to take action.
Somehow this was spun into Rangers being at fault.

The other clubs need to take a stand.

"The banner itself wasn’t an issue"

They lost any sympathy from me when I read that.
Reading the article, I think that statement is in reference to the "Hold on to our title Bhoys. Don't Give up The Dream" banner - not offensive (as far as I can tell) but not the pre-agreed wording. I don't think it was in reference to the other banner talking pish about slavery and freedom.

Scum being scum. Nothing new there. They act like they're beyond the law and above needing to abide by any rules or regulations. Of course they're emboldened in this by their own club and the authorities, both football and civil. Every inch given to this pondlife is another mile taken.

As an aside, much as it's good that Livi are highlighting this, I'm not sure any reference to future fixtures is relevant. Unless they get lucky with a cup draw, it'll be a long time before they host either us or them again.

And not one press outlet reported this vile banner. Police did her hae again.
No outcry from the daft lawmakers of snp as they were probably holding it up.

So they opened an Emergency exit and swarmed into the ground ?where were the Police at so called danger to public crush at the exit ? They freely walked along the pitch side to do the illegal tiffo why? They have done this at many grounds and got off with it. They will try this at Ibrox at somepoint and I will bet We get into trouble for it.and we got shit for a wee carpet.....

I'm no expert in Irish politics, but why are the GB intent on promoting a bunch of republican terrorists as 'slaves'? Slaves belonging to who exactly? Do these people actually know what slavery is? Uneducated losers, to quote a popular FF saying "I blame the schools"!

All very odd that the word Police is mentioned nowhere

They stood on the pitch on the touchline holding their bedsheet.

They then held up the game while they walked up to one end along touchline
Is this the Police or GB you are talking about :))

This from the online Scottish Sun.

They've revealed it could be the last time ANY banners are allowed in to the ground

LIVINGSTON say they have launched a probe into an unapproved banner unfurled by the Green Brigade during Sunday's Premiership clash.

In a lengthy statement, the West Lothian side have set out a timeline of the hours leading up to the clash - which saw Hoops ultras unfurl a banner across much of the East Stand which read: "Born into slavery they were Freedom's Sons".

It commemorated the Easter Rising in Dublin in 1916, but Livi said in a statement that it was allowed into the ground AGAINST the express wishes of the club and the police.

They say they've opened discussions with stewards as to how it was allowed in - ostensibly through an emergency gate that was opened due to "safety concerns".

They say that permission was twice rejected for a Tifo display across all three stands - with the only permission granted for a banner in the South Stand (behind the goal) to read:“You Play for Us and We’ll Sing for You”.

Instead, the banner unfurled at half time read: "Hold on to our title Bhoys. Don't Give up The Dream."

ivingston have also addressed concerns raised by home fans after selling tickets to home areas to a school group from the USA, some of whom wore Celtic colours.

They said in a statement: "There were a number of issues which arose before and during Sunday’s match with Celtic which we, as a club, feel we need to address.

"Prior to this fixture, a visiting supporters group called “The Green Brigade”, via the Celtic SLO, requested a Tifo display in all three stands allocated to the Celtic support and to have a banner displayed along the front of the East Stand.

"The banner was to read “You Play for Us and We’ll Sing for You”.

"This request was refused and instead, permission was granted for a Tifo and banner display in the South Stand only.

"This matter was discussed at the pre-match meeting, held in the week leading up to the match, where representatives from the club, Celtic FC, Amberstone (our steward company) and a delegate from the SPFL were all present.

"The agreement for a Tifo and banner display in the South Stand was understood by all in attendance.

"On match-day around an hour prior to kick off, a further request for a Tifo display in all three stands was requested by the same visiting supporters group and was again refused.

"Against the instruction of the club and police, the banner was allowed into the ground, unchecked, through an emergency gate that was opened due to safety concerns.

"The banner was then displayed along the front of the East Stand – again, against the agreed procedure.

"It was then deemed that this banner and the Tifo display would be allowed to continue on the grounds of public safety for those in the ground and to prevent further disorder that may have delayed the kick off or jeopardised the game going ahead.

"At the start of second half a further unapproved banner was then unfurled.

"The banner itself wasn’t an issue as such however, again, visiting supporters were permitted access trackside to display the banner which is wholly and utterly unacceptable.

"Full discussions are ongoing with external partners who were working at the stadium on Sunday to find out why a number of these incidents were allowed to happen and what steps will be taken to ensure there is no repeat in future fixtures.

"Going forward, it may well be that no banners or flags at all, of any nature, will be permitted in to the ground as an immediate way of preventing this but this will be discussed in full to ensure an outcome which prevents a repeat at future fixtures.

One final point, we were contacted a long time ago from a school group travelling over from America for the Easter weekend and they were looking to take in games on Saturday and Sunday and resultantly, had asked about coming to our game.

"Given the nature of the visit, we had no reason to believe it may consist of some opposition supporters and at no point was this communicated to us by the company organising the trip.

"On arrival, some of the group were in away colours but given the away allocation of tickets was sold out, there was no options available to move the group to the away section.

"However, after our safety team spoke with the group, and home supporters around them, the group did remove colours and remained in place in the home end and made reference to how welcomed they were made by home supporters in and around where they were seated.

"We thank the supporters in the areas C1, C2 and C3 for their understanding on this and for making the group feel welcomed despite the initial misunderstanding.

"All in all, certainly a disappointing day on all fronts relating to the above issues.

"We’re well aware that certain elements on the day weren’t acceptable and whilst conversations will be happening with all partners involved, we’ll also be having further discussions internally as to how we can attempt to reduce the number of concerns on these games.
Don't expect the SFA/SPFL To get involved ....they probably helped in the making of the banner and of course celtc f.c.won't be asked to comment by the press.Surprised the sun are reporting it.

From a distance, it's a very strange dynamic. Group of football supports do as they please, in spite of new laws that limit freedom of speech.
It's almost as if those pushing through the new legislation would rather be in amongst said supporters, than hold them accountable.

"The banner itself wasn’t an issue"

They lost any sympathy from me when I read that.
That's in relation to the half time play for us and we'll sing for you banner, not the IRA nonsense it seems

I guess it will be timmy supporting livi stewards who have let them in the back doors with their bigoted banners

It is disgusting how desperate they are to link themselves with the genuine injustices suffered by slaves in the United States.
The worst thing is the lack of accuracy in basic facts by the newspaper

The banner clearly said "borm invo slabery..." and something about "free dem's".

Dunno who the "dems" are, what they are possessing or why we need to free them.

Slavery ffs..Collins worked in London and Connolly voluntarily joined the British army.
Do these halfwits know anything about what they ramble on about

The real Irish were imperialist settler colonists of Scotland. That is why Gaelic is still spoken in the Western Isles today. They also raided the coasts of Britain to take slaves, St Patrick, as a classic example. Then again, these crackpots at Livvy the other day are about as Irish as spaghetti bolognese. :)) They are completely ignorant of Ireland's colonial and slave-trading history.

Wasn't their supporters but just a note on Police, they stood by on Sat when Hibs 'Ultras' were going into the stadium and let 1 of them call the Rangers fans waiting for the corden to be moved 'Orange B's'

When asked if the individual would be getting away with it, the reply was 'I didn't hear anything'

it looks like they asked an hour before kick off, been denied and then gone ape shit creating a public order issue till they were allowed to bring it into the stadium.
Yet the real story, which is probably close to what you have posted, seems to be largely ignored as always in the media.

An emergency exit ‘opened for safety reasons’. Aye, you’d need to come down in the clouds to believe that.

This lot do what they want, aided and abetted by placemen and their rancid club like no other. Which is a small mercy.
Was this not one of the reasons they got banned earlier this season and were let back in providing they don’t repeat

More recently McGuinness is widely suspected of being the Alpha tout, working as an agent for the Crown. According to the Steakknife Dirty War book. Cnuts were backstabbing each other left right and centre.

Its an embarrassment that lot basically turned Livingstons ground into a mini Giro Dome.
Joke of a club tbh

Are Livingston a joke of a club when they give us 3 stands as well, folk on here have to make up their minds up either moan about our allocations to away games being cut or moan about teams giving teams 3 stands

The blame lies with one team Celtic

Because they have infiltrated stewarding companies and get the emergency doors open so they can pile in people without tickets and other paraphernalia that's not been pre allowed.

The stand behind the goal the green brigade were in was clearly way over seating capacity.

They have done this at several grounds.
No chance was there ever 7.5k of them on the Broomloan back in the day, you could see them spilling into the stairs as plain as day.
