Barry Ferguson today

Maybe he could sign "the best striker in Scotland" Peado Griffiths to change their minds? He is his biggest fan.

No time for Ferguson nowadays, just spouts utter shite on Go Radio on a weekly basis, normally walking himself over Celtic and their players.

I thought this kind of stuff would have been easy for him to deal with given the level of pressure he dealt with on a daily basis as Rangers captain. He'll be getting his jotters soon I reckon. Fans tend not to forgive these sorts of things and contrary to his probable intent, it just screams insecurity. Felt the same when Pedro did it.

He's never going to be a great manager in my opinion. He might have an okay career but the evidence hasn't pointed to that so far. He had a good thing going at Kelty and he should have stayed the course with them, Alloa was always a weird move for him. Bit of a contrast in fortunes when you look and see how well KT is doing with Kelty at the moment.

Great player but knew he wasn’t cut out for management when he declared on open goal that he didn’t spend much time on shape and formation.

He done the same thing when he was at Clyde when it wasn't going well for him. Thankfully he'll never have the opportunity to behave like that as the Rangers manager.

The greatest Scottish footballer of his generation. This country hasn’t produced anyone anywhere near his quality in the last 25 years or so.

I’ve also had the privilege of meeting Barry Ferguson, and he impressed me as personable and polite. I don’t believe he’s as lacking in cerebral matter as some make out.

But there were warning signs throughout his career, incidents like the fracas in Bothwell, the booze-up with Scotland, and the Le Guen mutiny. All pointing to a personality unable to cope with the stresses of football management. I suspect his managerial career has already peaked.

Soon as things went wrong there the fans would turn on him for basically being a "hun" in their eyes.

Worked before with a few Alloa supporters years ago and it was Alloa/Celtic.

Great Post Bud.

Your middle paragraph sums up my opinion of a Legend, after I met him.

I'd like to see him succeed as a manager, and if fans are acting like complete wanks hurling abuse then fair play to him on confronting them, imo.

rangers legend for me but his love in with the filth leaves a sour taste to say the least and his constant under valuing of our players is timmy porn

working for mike mulraney says it all,

Doesn’t have the thick skin required to be a manager, surely the beginning of the end for him

Yes indeed. Two great servants to Rangers.

As much as they’re obviously not, they’ve definitely got a lot more class and integrity than Ferguson. Never heard any hint of PLG sniping back for instance, that’s in spite of Ferguson harping on about him repeatedly for years.

Never a good look, a manager in a stand up argument with fans.
Not the right way to go if you want your managerial career to procede and move on to bigger and better clubs.

Bit of the RoyKeane about him. Top class player but an arse of a guy without the temperament for management.

I've no idea why any Rangers fan would have a go at this man, an actual Rangers legend.
Loved him as a player but he doesn’t do himself any favours constantly bigging up the tramps and belittling the club he supports. Shame but him and Halliday are more interested in the monies from their paymasters and going along with the agenda.

Manager because of his name, Pedro actually did the correct thing by not giving him the 3rd coach position
Bloody hell, forgot about that. He got a few things spot on after all - this, Alfie, Jack and not wanting Jordan Jones.
John Hughes gets a fairer time than Barry Ferguson on this forum.
John Hughes has been more complimentary and more honest about Rangers and us fans than Barry Ferguson.
