Beale and White Army

Looks like it's soon to be official that Michael Beale is going to be Manager 18 for the famous. Forget the Naysayers.

It's time for the "Gerrard Express" type thread.

I think this will be a success because;
1. Young and hungry highly rated British coach.
2. Has kept up with the club and has mentioned how he keeps in contact with players. Will know where to make immediate improvements and can hit the ground running.
3. Was tremendous with Alfie and Kent last time, really got the best out of them.
4. He will show "them" no respect.
5. Has a "mini-preseason" to work with the players and identify key areas of weakness & improve our fitness.
6. Already knows the EPL grass isn't greener, so won't immediately want to work his ticket.

It's gloves off time. A return to "hunting in packs" the high press and more energy through out the match day squad.

Beale ball is back baby.

(If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.)
Choo Choo

1. I think all young Coaches are hungry and being British is an irrelevance. Highly rated as a Coach by a few but as a Manager unproven.

2. Perhaps given how bad Rangers had been allowed to become but thats a low bar.

3. Those two have long decided they want out and good riddance to them both. If we or Michael Beale are pinning our revival hopes on them its worse than we suspected.

4. Showing "them" no respect will draw the same application as showing "them" a lot or a bit. Lazy players who are disinterested should be dropped and left out. Gio did it with Morelos and Rangers instantly improve, then 5 mins later he brought him back and it reverted to previous.

5. Ghastly phrase which has been used to discuss the few weeks around the World Cup beginning/ending. Its hardly a lot of time to do much of anything and its not going to improve our selection options. Beale or whoever has the same poor crop Gio did.

6. Its much greener and always will be because of the exposure, money and future opportunities if you do well. If Beale does take the job I will be surprised given QPR seemed a good gig for a developing Manager but we shall see.

Please do not use Celt!c / Scottish Media phrasing to describe Rangers. With or without Michael Beale.

Its low class.
TL;DR

We were playing some of the best football I've ever seen us play under him and Gerrard. They took us through the league undefeated and not only did they build the foundations for our European run last year, they made us someone to be feared on the European stage.

Even although we weren't playing great before they left, we were still in a healthy position in the league.

I'm actually pretty excited by the appointment, knowing that we will have a footballing identity again
I always want managers to stay and get a chance I think it's just the way I am, but you always get that excitement when you get a new manager in and look forward to seeing new players coming in and different coaching and playing styles.

Another one !!! Whats a lazy appointment ? Can you explain in your words what you mean by a lazy appointment?
Can I ask this?

He was meant to be the tactics man and the football knowledge when he was with us so, when Gerrard said he was leaving ,why didn't Beale have confidence in this ability I keep hearing he has and just ask if he could be considered for the Rangers manager job and even state it would have kept some stability for the team as yet another reason why he should have been considered.

If he didn't have enough confidence in himself to believe he could be Rangers manager then, why is he the best choice now?

Ok I'm now on board the Beale Express :p

Like Gio was.

Easy appointment, no need to think about long term dynamics and ethos.

Essentially a typical Ross Wilson move
I don't buy into the theory that this is typcial Ross Wilson move nor lazy, If Mick Beale does come in then he will come because he's deemed the best candidate for the job, both on a financial front and squad, I'd have preferred him to have a couple of years at QPR etc however with all the names in the frame not one of them knows the club like Beale, he wouldn't have been my choice however I will get behind him 100% if appointed.

I’ve not decided yet whether I’m

A) absolutely raging but if he’s a success will be calling it a masterstroke all along

Or

B) absolutely delighted but if he’s a failure will be slating the board and be saying he should never have got the job,

Called the bravest man in sport "Conk face".

Was he offered the position prior to leaving with Gerrard ? If the board wanted him then I reckon he would have been approached, I don't think he was.

Why didnt he approach the board and put himself forward then is what I am asking. He clearly knew Gerrard was leaving.

Personally I think we need a more experienced person to be appointed. It's too much of a risk. Last 2 managers had no sizeable budget for recruitment
surely this has to be addressed.
If it is why we're SG and GVB not given money.?

Was he asked if he wanted the job or was he told he wasn't ready?

He has just deleted his twitter account ...

EDIT - Turns out that was early this morning. I like to take my time catching up with the news.

Fully behind the manager, no doubt that he will get an improvement from this team, plus he should have a bunch of players returning from injury - He will relish having a smart player like Lawrence in the team

After the initial “new manager bounce” at QPR, they are 4 points from a possible 18 in their last six matches.
That’s relegation form.

Beale was a top training ground coach. One of the best in the world. Does he have what it takes to be the manager though…..?

Time will tell.

From much of what has been written about Beale, it seems he was not only the 'brains' of the operation but took most of the training sessions. With that in mind I believe that, under his tutelage, we will see the team return to previous levels of fitness.
Even if that were the only difference, I think that would improve us when playing in Scotland. At present the 'diddy' teams not only treat playing us as a cup final, they often appear to be fitter than us.
That, in addition to the return of some key injured players and, I would hope, some of the others going back to enjoying playing football, could see us a very different team.

You'd need to ask Mick Beale that himself mate, I couldn't possibly answer on his behalf, I've only had a pint with him in the Louden so don't really know him very well :))
Do you get what I mean though? I have serious doubts over how much he actually believes himself he can do the job and take the unbelievable amount of abuse and heat that will be coming his way, if he does get it.

I get what you are saying 100%.. I've said previously he wouldn't be my first choice this early in his career however he has an advantage over the rest of the candidates where he knows the club, he knows the set up/players etc and more importantly he knows the kind of financial constraints we fall under... like every appointment its a gamble however this could potentially turn out to become a very shrewd move, we have to fully support him should he he appointed.

Is it perhaps telling that he went downhill with QPR after he was pictured at Ibrox? I (and most) don't believe for a second that he happened to just be here catching up with old pals, I genuinely think the slump has happened because his head has been turned.

Uninspired, unimaginative, underwhelming, a lazy appointment by a board that’s fast becoming an embarrassment,
At the least it’s a bigger gamble than we need to take. Every manager is a gamble to some extent but we should be minimizing the risk. I don’t see how we are minimizing the risk with essentially another rookie appointment. But quite frankly the way Rangers have operated recently it wouldn't surprise me.

Sick of seeing this constantly mentioned on here.

Maybe he's the best man for the job. Time will tell.
Time will tell and it could go either way. What isn't in dispute is that he doesn't have a track record to be anywhere near the best man for the job at this moment in time.

That doesn't mean he can't succeed with us though and if its confirmed we all need to back him.
