Biggest Spending Managers. Guess Who's Top?

Incredible amounts of money the Scottish league could only dream of imagine us with Gerrard in charge in that league.

Klopp doesn’t feature. Surly a good thing from his point of view.

Perhaps Klopp deserves some of the credit for it, but both at Dortmund and Liverpool he’s worked under structures that don’t necessarily allow the manager to go wild.

Granted, Allison was a huge fee, but so far he’s been justified.

I would like to see a similar list for players and the total transfer fees that they’ve gone for.

Pep’s been lucky enough to join sides that were already successful. The cost of superstar players is the end of chequebook managers

Pep will be trying his best to catch up in the summer. Might need a few more full backs

I'm still amazed Spurs have took on Mourinho, especially since he's a chequebook manager and Daniel Levy is pretty tight.

2= Pep Guardiola: £998m / Zlatan Ibrahimovic £57m
4 Manuel Pellegrini: £921m / Cristiano Ronaldo £80m

Doubt He will be topping it under Danial Levy

Over what timeframe?

At a lot of clubs managers have no say on both what players or what price. Usually say what position they would like to sign and the director of football deals with the rest

Ronaldo has to be the best transfers of all time 10m or there abouts to utd absolutely owed it and won the lot 80m to madrid became their greatest ever player then sell him at a profit years later!

And the greatest player of them all, cost nothing.

There has to be a moral in that story somewhere.

Cue predictable shite about hormone/growth tablets equating to taking drugs.

Not much of a guessing game if you give the answer in the first post

Don't think any of these guys are solely responsible for these figures, bit of a non story in that respect.

Does highlight the staggering amount of money in the modern game though, some jaw dropping figures being bandied about.

How are these figures calculated? Is inflation etc taken into account?

Using Wenger as an example he spent 767m which is 22.5m per annum if you average it out over a 34 year career, still seems like a crazy high figure to be fair, Mourinho is a whole different level though 20yrs as a manager and avg spend of 65m per annum!

Would be interesting to see the NET spend on those. But totally obscene amount being spent!
